Green pictures

Assuming the camera is not faulty the most frequent reason for a green tint is the selection of the wrong white balance in the camera menu. The menu will contain "AWB", "daylight", sometimes represented by a stylised sun logo and indoor. If you use "daylight" for indoor photos the pictures will have a green cast. Select "AWB" for generally acceptable results. If the pictures have a green cast on outdoor pictures you have a problem

How do you find the white balance on this camera?

This camera does not have a customizable white balance. It does have some presets -- they are:

  • Auto (default)-automatically corrects white
balance. Ideal for general picture taking.

  • Daylight-for pictures in natural lighting.
  • Tungsten-corrects the orange cast of household
light bulbs. Ideal for indoor pictures under tungsten or
halogen lighting without flash.

  • Fluorescent-corrects the green cast of fluorescent
lighting. Ideal for indoor pictures under fluorescent
lighting without flash.

To access them, press the [Menu] button and look for White Balance -- the icon is a Sun and Light Bulb symbol.

Green tint on tv and picture randomly cuts out

Sounds like a Sony, if it uses a lamp the green cast is most likely the optical light engine in the set---major part.

I recently obtained a optiquest Q19wb monitor to add as an extra screen to my laptop. When I plug it in the picture is all green and does not use the whole screen. I tried to decrease the green value but...

When you get color casting on the screen (Red, Blue, or Green casting), it is either the pin on the video cable are bent or not insert properly, or broken cable inside the video cable, it can also be the video card/jack itself. You need to try this monitor with another PC first to find out where the problem is.

Green cast on all channels

Hey Sandjk, I have a 3 yr old sony 60a2000. It has been turning green for the last 3 months. I thought it was the bulb needing replacement, so I just changed it. $250 down the drain. Its no better at all. I have to go to settings-picture-custom- advanced settings-white balance- and take the g-gain and g-balance to minimum values. do it for the cool and warm 1 settings. then when you cycle thru the cool neutral warm settings you will see a big difference. Not great but watchable. let me know what you think or if you found a better solution.

Picture has a mild green color over most of it

Whenever you have a color cast, like green or magenta or blue it is an ink cartridge problem. You are out of a needed color or a replacement cartridge is not correct manufactures color. This can happen easily using 3rd party ink.

Sounds like the image sensor is malfunctioning (common symptoms: distorted images with purple or green cast, completely dark images, flickering lines across the screen.)

YThe colors in my picture have yellow/green color cast.

When you take pictures under certain artificial lighting conditions- such as fluorescent, incandescent, or halogen lighting, the colors in your image may take on a yellow or green cast. You can use HotShots to touch-up the colors; see Chapter 7 for instructions.
