The jack itself may be defective, there may be a cold solder connection on the circuit board, or the driver circuit to the jack is defective. The unit will have to be serviced to fix the fault.

Why is my canon gl1 speaker not working?

First, check the headphone jack and make sure it's working. After that, try the speaker once more. If it's still not working, then you have one of three problems: Either a bad headphone jack (there is an internal switch that cuts out the speaker) or you have a bad speaker (most probable), or someone left it unplugged interally (if it's been in for service previously) Should you require Professional service, we can help!

How can I hook this cam up to my Television?

For this camera you will need to find in your equipment (or purchase) a "stereo video cable "
This cord features a 1/8th (male) headset jack on one end and 3 male RCA jacks on the other. (yellow/red/white).

Plug the 1/8th jack into the camera's AV input and the RCA plugs into your TVs RCA port input and select the correct AV input (AV 1, 2, etc)on your tv selector and the camera should play through your tv.

Monitor Sound for JVC GZ-HD7

I've never heard of an adapter and after a quick google search and all the options voided the warranty, but if i were to make an educated guess... the easiest way and unfortunately bulky way of doing this would be to use the av jack and the cable that came with the camcorder, take one or both of the RCA stereo ends and pass them through a mic - line level converter and that should work, or you can use one of the stereo RCA ends and use a rca to phono adapter and then connect a headphone volume amplifier to that. Other than those choses, I see no other way to monitor your record volume with headphones.
JVC has been approached about this and they said they didn't include a headphone jack to reduce cost, but seriously. how expensive could that have been?

Best option is to use a tv card with the corresponding sockets for the cable you have - turns the computer into a tv for purposes of video recording and play back.
