Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

2 Answers

No Video My xbox 360 has just recently been having a problem with the video. There is perfect sound but the video is not working. When I say not working I mean there are multi-colored lines flashing on the screen and then you can make out the start-up menu. Sometimes the video completely fails and it's black but there is still sound. I've tried to heat up the soder on the motherboard with a hairdryer as I've heard that works. The problem still exists. What else can I do differently?

Red ring is not the only problem with Microsoft Xbox 360. This amazing device also has some more common problems like Audio but no video problem, disc read error etc. Microsoft is providing extended warranty only for red ring problem. Means you will have to spend some money to get this problem repaired also if you plan to send your xbox to Microsoft, you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get back your favourite Xbox. There is one more option in the form of DIY guide, this guide explains solving No Video problem with step by step instruction, so any novice can fix this problem.

When the xbox is switched on a black fuzzy screen appears, we have tried different wires that work with other xboxes and it still does not work. We have also used our wires on other peoples xboxes which...

If your Xbox 360 does not have display you need to stop the heat getting to the chips. You can actually do this yourself as many have in this forum using the recommended Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Basically the guide will show you how to stop the heat build up with videos and household items, of course if you are in doubt send it in.

It has a preview video on the website.

Or of course you can send it in to have it fixed.

My xbox 360 does not display VIDEO buy plays sound perfectly

Check to make sure the video selector switch on the video cable is set to proper position according to your type of tv. (TV or HDTV)
Unplug your cables and then plug them back in again.

You can also turn on your Xbox using the controller. As soon as it turns on hold in the right trigger and press the Y button. This will reset the video system settings.

It may be possible that you have a bad video cable but I doubt it.
If none of the above works you'll need to call xbox support to have your console repaired especially if it's still under warranty. If it's still under warranty, (under 1yr old for this type of problem) Microsoft will repair it for free.

Help 360 video no sound

No sound can unfortunately mean the HANA chip is causing the problem. This can happen after the RRoD has been repaired since overheating causes the issue to begin with. If you can confirm that sound was working before, then it's going to be the chip.

Apparently if you try using the optical output on the HD AV leads, this *may* cause you to get sound working.

We cant see the video only the sound is perfect

are you using a hd television?
-if so, then replug in your plugs into the television, and make sure that the av cable to the xbox360 console end, is switched to hd.

-if not, then recheck your plugs, check that the av cables to the xbox360 console is switched to tv.

and if this still does not all work, then, its mainly where you plugged in the video cables into the television. so my main advance to you is to recheck where you plugged the video cables.
