Question about GE Dishwashers
Make sure the circuit breaker for the dishwasher is on in your house. Next, open the door and look around for the latch at the top. This presses a switch that tells the dishwasher it is closed, allowing it to start. If the latch is bent or the switch is broken the dishwasher will not work. Also you can take apart the panel at the bottom and check to make sure the wires are properly connected (always disconnect power at the breaker and if you dont know what you are doing do not mess around with electricity).

The main water pump on this model does not last long. The water seal between pump and motor starts to leak that result in the adjacent motor bearing corroding and eventually failing, resulting in excessive noise. Later the water leak becomes so bad that it triggers the "E I" water leakage display and prevents it from completing the program. The pump and motor is sold as one unit and the whole unit must be replaced. I have tried to replace the faulty bearing and repacked the rubber seal with silicon grease but with no success. If anyone have repaired the water seal successfully please let us know.
