Well i don't know but i'd ck the filter . there is probably a clog or blockage in the air vent . the discharge . try removing the vent and dry a load and see if it works better .. air flow is most important with dryers .. mm hope this helps feed back please .. majic **** .

LG Electric Dryer DLE2140W, it keeps running plus no heat. It says check filter, but filter is all clear.

Dryer will only turn off when cloths are dry. Seems like you have a failed heat circuit. If electric, first reset the circuit breaker (double) a couple of times. If gas, call a tech.

I have an LG DLE2532W and the check filter light keeps blinking even though it is clean and the dryer won't work what could be wrong?

There is a thermostat or safety somewhere on the dryer where the filter is and it probably is dirty or bad.

Dryer keeps saying check filter - lint screen is clean-dryer won't run

Had the same problem. Filter was clean. Vacuumed out the area under the filter. Still had problem. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the hose vent (back of dryer) and checked the exhaust -- all clean. Plugged the dryer back in and was fine. Still going to check the vent to the outside for lint buildup.

The dryer keeps shuting off and saying check filter

Check the rear exhaust vent at the bottom back of the dryer. If it is clogged it can cause the dryer to "overheat", that is ... if the vent is clogged with lint and debris a fire could start if there was enough heat.

Please rate this answer for me. Thank you

Keep replacing thermal fuse

This is going to sound like an owners manual but here goes:

1. Keeping the lint filters clean after each load is every important.
a. if you use dryer sheets (bounce etc) you should clean you lint filter with vinegar about every 90 days. The material from the dryer sheets collects on the lint filter. It will appear clean but will restrict airflow.

2. All air passages must be kept clear:

a. Around the lint filter (look deep and hard) clean with crevice tool

b. At the rear connection of the dryer check the vent ducting for obstructions. It can appear clean yet have a caked build up inside the ducting that restricts airflow.

c. The through the wall vent ducting flapper.

Other than the lint filter the is the leading cause of ducting restrictions. Lint can build up on BOTH sides of the flapper so it keeps it from fully opening or closing and restricts airflow.

Thermistors are there to prevent your dryer from burning down your home. The thermistor is doing its job.

Sorry for sounding like an owners manual / user guide but everything above I see over and over and over..... and over. People say the ducting lint filter and thru the wall vent are clear... Yet I go out there and they pay me to prove them wrong.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Have you fixed this yet? It has been over 3 months since and I guess you might have already had it repaired.

Dryer keeps stopping - check filter light on

For Sgt 48 - You are not reading the original message very well - The original help question didn't say they saw check filter at the beginning or end of a dry cycle they indicated that the dryer STOPS MID DRY and says check filter - this is not a friendly reminder, it is indicating something is wrong and the filter needs to be completely cleaned out (and past the filter down in the interior of the dryer) and if that does not work then you need to also check the dryer hose for kinks, lint build up, etc. Lastly, reset the dryer by unplugging it (or flipping the breaker) for a minute or so and hold down on the start/pause button for 8 seconds while it is unplugged (this will reset the error code for check filter, among other things).

Front loading dryer

The check filter light is just a reminder light and cannot be reset.  Nothing to worry about.  Just keep the filter clean before each use.
