I applied 24vdc to cameras that were 12vdc only. They do not work. What needs to be repaired to make these cameras work again?

Can l use a garmin sat nav on 24volt


Garmin GPS products operate on +5VDC and require an adapter to convert +12VDC to +5VDC. The internal battery is 3.7VDC and is charged by the +5VDC.

If you want to use +24VDC, you will need to find an adapter that converts +24VDC to +5VDC @ 1AMP and has the right connector to mate with the unit. Connecting +24VDC directly to the unit will damage the GPS.

Some motorcyclists connect the GPS directly to the +12VDC battery and damage the GPS.

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

No picture but have sound


It can be caused by many circuits, bottom line is that the circuits have gone out and need to be repair or repalced.

Power supply is OK (indicator light does go on) but we have no picture; Can you tell us what connector cables we need for this model (PLTV 32; Model LU32A1A3) Thank you


PLTV-32 or 32C?
PLTV-32 uses AC adapter that puts out 12vdc (for sound and logic) and 24vdc for the backlights inverter board. Do you get sound?
PLTV-32C uses built-in power supply that usually has 24vdc failure due to bad caps or bad circuits.

Samsung LCD TV liquid crystal panel is not turning on. Backlight is working OK. Which circuit board would be the problem? Or is it something else?


Power supply? Need troubleshooting first.
The T-CON board fuse will be the first place to look, you need to find out if the T-CON board is receiving the 12vdc from the main board first.
See example of dead T-CON board.

Momentary picture only when turning set on this NO picture at all. Is there a back lighting system that makes the picture visible & is it repairable

I turn on my tv and then acouple of min later the screen goes black perfect sound no picture and power button lights up with a sun like looking symbol in red


hartbriqitte, Internal ac to dc power supply printed circuit board failure. The +12vdc source may be in shutdown mode and can not supply dc to the inverter circuit that produces ac voltage to light-up the cold cathode fluorescent lamps that produce WHITE light so you can see what is on the lcd panel!! 12fixlouie

I get sound but no picture on any connection


It can be the 24vdc is dead, shorted out backlight inverter board, bad T-CON board.

Unplug it for about an hour first to let it reset itself and try again, if it is still not working then:
