Hi there,

THere have been many cases where users cannot login to their yahoo email, and yes, this is because. of a routing problem; your current ISP could hardly connect to Yahoo's mailservers and vice versa. Though this problem is temporary, you could report this problem to your ISP or your internet provider to fix the routes. For the meantime, you can check your email by logging into http://wap.yahoo.com. Just click the Mail link on the upper right corner of that website.

Should you have further questions, please dont hesitate to ask back. Thank you for using FixYa.

How do i make a email address

Your internet service provider (ISP) may have already set up an e-mail account for you. If so, you should have received a paper with your account name and password on it. For example, if you signed up with ISPCO, and you have the account name glock, then your email address would be glock@ispco.com.

You can also set up an email account at a web-based service, such as gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo. Go to the web page for the one you want (for example, www.gmail.com) and click on the Create an Account button. Follow the directions given. I strongly recommend you verify your ISP e-mail account is working first. That way, if you forget the log-in password for the web mail account, there is a way for the web mail provider to send you a new one.

Login gmail

It is not uncommon for a person to have more than one email account.
Most email service providers offer their customers a way to import email contacts and messages from other email accounts into the account maintained by the provider.

Some email service providers, such as Gmail and Yahoo Mail, have an email migration tool built in to their email interface.

Other providers, such as Comcast, direct their customers to use the TrueSwitch email migration tool.

Log in to your Gmail account.

Open the Gmail settings menu by clicking the pinwheel icon located in the top right corner of the window. Select "Mail setting."

Go to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
Click "Import mail and contacts."
Follow the on-screen instructions to import your address book from another email account into your Gmail account. Import Address Book Into Yahoo Mail Account

Log in to your Yahoo mail account. Click "Contacts."
Open the "View" drop-down menu. Select "All Contacts."
Open the "Tools" drop-down menu. Select "Import."
Click "Others."
Follow the on-screen instructions to import your address book from another email account into your Yahoo mail account.
Import Address Book Using TrueSwitch Tool

Go to the Esaya TrueSwitch secure transfer Web page. Check the box next to the "Terms of Service" statement.

Click "Begin."
Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer your address book from one email account to another.

The TrueSwitch tool supports transfer from and to Windows Live / Hotmail, AOL / AIM, Yahoo mail, GMX, Verizon, Comcast, ATT, Charter, Time Warner, Cablevision, Cox, CompuServe, Earthlink, Juno, and PeoplePC, among other email accounts.

Can receive but can't send email

I can receive but can't send mail using my POP mail client. Why? If you're able to receive but unable to send mail using your POP mail client (such as Outlook), please review the possible trouble areas below.
SMTP Server
In the fight against unsolicited commercial email (spam), some Internet service providers require their subscribers to send mail through the ISP's own SMTP servers. If you experience problems sending email, please contact your ISP to determine if it requires different SMTP server settings. You will need to use the ISP's SMTP server in place of Yahoo!'s SMTP server when configuring your POP mail client.
The following is a partial list of ISPs that require you to use their SMTP servers. If your ISP is among them, try replacing the Yahoo! SMTP server with the ISP server in your POP mail client settings, or consult the ISP's help files. (Learn more about configuring your client.) If your ISP does not appear in the list below, please contact your ISP directly for more information.
MSN smtp.email.msn.com NetZero smtp.netzero.net Verizon outgoing.verizon.net Earthlink/MindSpring Please visit its help pages AT&T Please visit its help pages Bell Sympatico Please visit its help pages SBC See below SBC Your SMTP settings will vary based on your account setup. Choose the SMTP setting that corresponds to the email address most like the one provided to you by your ISP.
you@ameritech.net smtp.ameritech.yahoo.com you@flash.net smtp.flash.yahoo.com you@nvbell.net smtp.nvbell.yahoo.com you@pacbell.net smtp.pacbell.yahoo.com you@prodigy.net smtp.prodigy.yahoo.com you@sbcglobal.net smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com you@snet.net smtp.snet.yahoo.com you@swbell.net smtp.swbell.yahoo.com you@wans.net smtp.wans.yahoo.com For more information about AT&T's SMTP requirements, please visit the AT&T help center or contact AT&T DSL support at 877-SBC-DSL5 (877-722-3755) or AT&T DIAL support at 866-SBC-DIAL (866-722-3425).
SMTP Port
If you have adjusted your SMTP server, and you're still experiencing a problem, you may need to use an alternate port. In an attempt to control spam, some Internet service providers now block port 25, which means you may need to use port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. Learn how to change ports.
Antivirus Protection
If you have Norton AntiVirus enabled on your computer, you may have to make configuration adjustments to use Outlook or Outlook Express. For more information, visit the Symantec web site.
Authentication
The Yahoo! SMTP server requires authentication. Learn more.

Trying to set up outlook but dont know incoming and outgoing servers how do i find out

The incoming and outgoing mail servers are going to be the ones used by your ISP(internet service provider:Time Warner,Verizon, ect) if you use their mail service or a web based service(Yahoo,MSN,ect). So you can first start with your actual e-mail address. If your e-mail address is joeschmo@yahoo.com then you e-mail provider is yahoo. You will then need to goto the website for your e-mail provider and get the incoming and outgoing e-mail server info from them. You will also need your username and password for your e-mail account. Then set up a new e-mail account on outlook express using the information. Also some mail servers require authentication so you might need to configure those settings on outlook exprerss also.

Am tring to set up my email on my new note book in out look express but dont seem to be able to come up with the log on page so am not able to do any thing like send an email can use email on my hotmail...

Outlook Express needs you to have an email account with your ISP, and your ISP should provide you with the setup items like Mail Servers. Once this isw done, you will have complete access to your email.

As an example, my ISP is Comcast and my mail servers are

mail.comcast.net to receive, and
smtp.comcast.net to send.

Your ISP will have their own servers, of course.

You will need to log in to these servers, using logins and passwords provided by your ISP. Outlook Express manages this as well.
