It appears the water inlet valve has failed in this case.

Either there is sediment in the poppet - preventing it from closing - or the solenoid has failed in the open position.

Temporarily turn the water supply valves off so the machine doesn't overflow.

Then - if you are handy - head over to RepairClinic.com and enter your full model number to find a replacement dual inlet water valve.

If you would like a direct link - reply with your exact model number and I will be glad to help you find it.

Thanks!!

When this happens, that means the water inlet valve is not shutting off. EIther the valve is stuck or there is still power going to the valve keepng it open allowing water flow.

Water keeps dripping into machine when washing is done

Water entering the machine when it is off likely means you have a failed solenoid on the water inlet valve. It is possible that low water pressure could cause it but if your machine fills normally during use, then the water inlet valve needs to be replaced. It is a simple job if you would like instructions.

Water keeps running in ice maker

Turn off the machine if water is still running then unplug the machine. If the water is still running then check water presser from water supply to make sure it is under 80 psi before replacing water inlet valve.

Water keeps running and the ice maker isn't making ice

The ice maker will not make ice with the water running in contently this keeps the water temp to high. Turn machine off, cut water supply off to machine, remove water inlet valve, ether take valve apart and rebuild it or replace the water inlet valve. Reassemble in reverse order and machine should make ice.

Water keeps running into machine even when power is switched off

failure of the inlet valve. You can find this in the inlet pipe section, remove and check if dirt had accumulated to jam the valve. If not the valve is faulty and must be replaced.

The tub keeps filling with water. I must run drain/spin constantly to keep the water from coming out.

Hi There,

Either the hot or cold (or both) water inlet valves has failed and is locked open. Keep running the drain/spin as you are doing and shut off the water supply from the machine. After you have shut off the water supply and the machine has fully drained, switch the power OFF as well. There will be service valves for shutting off the water supply at the ends of the hoses connected to the back of the washing machine. Hopefully, whoever installed it hasn't located the valves behind the machine or you will need to pull the machine out to turn the water supply off - I've seen this done far too many times and it's not clever. The machine will then need to be inspected and will probably need to have at least one solenoid replaced.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric
