Lift the entire unit from underneath and slide it out of the bracket. If that doesn't work, undo the screws from the inside of the cupboard.

I have a Black and Decker ODC 460--it has been recalled BUT they want the data on the back of the unit. It is suspended from a cabinet and though they suggest it can be removed from the mounting kit...

The Use and Care Manual for your product can be found here:

http://useandcaremanuals.com/pdf/ODC460973.pdf

REMOVING THE UNIT

1. To remove unit from mounting bracket (for service or cleaning), first remove the thermal carafe. Slide your hand under the unit for support. Slide unit forward on its track guides to remove.

2. To replace the unit, slide it onto mounting bracket and all the way back until it locks into place.

Your right that they do not provide any specific instruction on whether there is a lock to release. I suspect you need to lift the unit up in the tracks before you pull forward.

How is the ODC325 removed? Its mounted in an RV and appears to have no screws or release system. Thanks

The machine slides into the side brackets and drops into slots on either side. Lift the entire unit up a half-inch or so and slide it forward (toward you).

Have the older style ODC325 in motorhome. The heating unit went out and bought replacement (used) w/o manual &/or mounting brackets. Need to get oldest one uninstalled w/o breaking brackets so we can...

Raise the entire unit a half-inch or so by lifting from the bottom, then slide the whole thing forward. It drops into slots in the side brackets when you slide it into them.

Missing Bracket

The brackets are also sold through Fox International (Black & Decker's suggested parts dealer). Fox's price is $3.95 + $11.95 shipping. Abtec's price is $7.99 + $5.95 shipping. So Abtec's total is about $2 cheaper. But BE WARNED. The shipping price that automatically rings up is WRONG--it's more expensive. So you have to call them up and make sure that they charge your credit card the correct shipping price.

Release for a Black&Decker ODC400 space saver

There's no release. Rock the bottom of the unit forward then pull towards you and it should come free. The catch is actually at the top of the unit where it meets the slides on either side.

Black and Decker Spacemaker model ODC 440

Mine did the same thing for a month after being only 3 months old. Then it Quit completely ; no deplay even. I took it apart, traced the circuit, and found a bad component. It appears to be some sort of diode, but I can't tell because there are no markings on it. There are two of them in series clipped to the heater, but each has a different color coding. If i jumper arround the second one the unit works, but I an afraid to use it this way as it was obviusly there for a reason. (may start a fire or something) Anyway, this is the second Black & decker ODC coffee pot that took a dump on me and I will never buy another of their products. I attempted to obtain this part from black and decker, but the refuse to sell it to me. They say the unit is not customer serviceable. **** ; Why should they sell me a part that might cost oll of 50 cents when they can sell a whole new unit or charge a fortune for them to repare it. Good luck with yours.
