What I would do is either remove all the water lines and blow them out with compressed air and drain it completly if you are goinfg to store it for a while. If you stll need it and have to use it you might want to try the Red colred Rv and marine antifreeze. I think you can add half of the gallon and put it on a cycle that starts the discharge pump, allow it run just long enough to pump the antifreeze into the dischage line and make sure it is coming out of the hose before shuting it off. This should allow enough of the antifreeze to get in the lines and keep it from freezing. You still have to worry about the water lines connected to the machine. heat tape might help there!

I'm pretty sure the FP code means freeze protection engaged. It prevents the outside coil from freezing

My washer keeps stopping in the middle of a cycle and i keep having to hit the start button. what is the problem?

How old is the washer? Older washers used contacts inside the control module (typically an enclosed unit) and over time, carbon builds up on the contacts and eventually, good contact cannot be made anymore.

My whirlpool fills with water after the machine is turned off. How can I fix it?

sounds as if you have a bad inlet water vavle, it doenst complety shut off after use, and waer will trickle in( adding up to quite a bit in a day) youll need to replace the water inlet valve(directly behind themachine where the hoses hook into). in the meantime turn off water inbetween uses

When the washer is off, even if the door is left open, the tub will fill with water and leak onto the floor.

Whirlpool duet wahser not draining

Hello there. in the meantime, you can try cleaning out the pump. This is how: There is a kick plate underneith the door and below that plate there are 3 (hex) screws.
Once you take the plate off, there should be a filter right before your eyes.
Whirlpool makes it easy to access it. Clean the filter and I think you'll be ok.
Try that first before you spend $79 on a service technician. Here is a picture of how it should look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21558886@N00/2710225237 Thanks for your inquiry and using fixya. Hope this helped :)

Kenmore Elite side by side refrigerator freezer

if you will be affected by freezing weather, it is advisable to drain all water from your reservoir to prevent from freezing and can damage the plastic tank.

if not, then it is safe just to unplug it and leave it. clean.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Washer will not drain or spin motor making clicking noise

Likely has debris in the filter.
Open the bottom access panel (3 screw on bottom front lip)
open the filter access and be ready for some water spill ,have towels.
clean and check the pump impellers for freedom of movement.
if you still have noise after this you may have to go deeper past the pump and remove the hoses as the debris can be past the pump now.
Or take the machine outside and run water up the pump using a water hose to clear it. be inventive
