I have ice forming on copper line near compressor and there is a oily greasy substance on the compressor. What might be the problem?

the greasy dust is from a gas leak in the system and the oil is coming out with the gas
the ice forming on the pipe is the internal evaporation of the liquid gas
I suggest that a technician be called to repair the system

A/c runs fine for about 1 hour ,then cold air stops. go on roof and find that line from comp. is frozen and twice the size with ice.

Usually when the suction line frosts back to the compressor and forms ice that means you have plenty of gas in the system. So what ya do is clean the air filter and the evaporator as best you can. Make sure the fan inside is operating properly.

I have a 2005 Passat 2.0v saloon, just recently my car stated stalling on cold startup, it revs on then cuts out. This happen serval times, I leave it for a few minutes then it starts up fine and work...

I have seen allot of this in the recent cold weather, even with my Wife's car...

Most often it is caused by ice forming in the fuel line.

Try adding a can of DryGas (one other brand name is "Heet") to your tank. The results are not immediate, but eventually the ice will be gone.

If you can get your car into a garage (especially a heated one) it helps allot.

Most often, a fuel line ices up because a gas tank is not filled until nearly empty- try and keep your tank full in the winter!
