Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have a viewsonic N3235W that has recently stopped working. Hoping that it was the power supply I have replace it but with no success. It has the orange 5 volt stand-by light but it won't turn on at all. Is there anything else that can be tried before I just go get a new TV? I was reading some of the other posts people have made here but haven't seen anything similar that has a response. I've already shelled out around $120 for the power supply (with shipping) so I'm hoping that it doesn't cost much more. As well I now have an extra power supply for a viewsonic N3235W.

My viewsonic keeps changing channels which makes it impossible to use. We've unplugged it and everything. once you power it on, thats all it does. it continueusly changes channels. please help

The first thing to try is to see if a button is stuck on the remote or on the TV.
Remove the batteries on the remote and see if that helps. If it fixes the problem, you'll need to replace the remote.
If that doesn't help, look close at the buttons on the TV to see if one is jammed on. If changing channels continually up, then check the channel up button on the TV, if down then check the down button.
Worst case, you might have to take the back off the TV and unplug the cable feeding the external button panel on the TV and only use the Remote (for safety, rememeber to unplug the TV while doing any work on it).

There is sound but no video on my N3235w, it was working fine when this just happen sudenly.

Depends what you mean by no video.
If the screen is white and washed out, it could be your T-Con board.
If the screen is black, turn the lights off in the room and look for any glow from the screen. If you see glowing, then the backlight is working and your problem is the video/main board.
Shine a flashlight or other strong light on the screen to see if you see any faint images in the screen, if you see images, then your backlight circuit is gone.

I have a viewsonic n3235w and it wont dsiplay picture when connected to sony network media player. Sony logo is displayed but then tv switches to 1080i and screen goes black. Any suggestions?

Set your Sony Media player to output only in 1080i or 720P output mode. If that doen't work and if your Sony supports Component hook-up, use that instead (Blue, Green, Red Video and seperate Audio).

Tv suddenly turned off

There are a number of things worth checking when the tv disappears.
Check the power control settings
Check if Auto sleep feature is activated in the Time settings. Refer to the to the "Sleep Timer"
If there is no signal while the tv is on, some tv will turn off automatically
after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Need to find the remote control for my ViewSonic N3235W3M HDMI TV

I can't find a Viewsonic N3235W3M. However the N3235W and the N3235W-M use the RC00136P remote. This remote is available from several sites: http://www.electronicadventure.us/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A-00008148&Category_Code=VRC2 and http://www.remotecontrolscenter.com/viewsonic/a-00008148.html . A replacement remote is available from remotes.com here: http://remotes.com/store/viewsonic/n3235w.html .

I hope this helps.

Have a viewsinic n3752w no led on switch working when plunged In any ideas out there on what's wrong ? Fuse is good at power supply and new cord

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

ViewSonic N3251w 32in. HDTV LCD stopped working.

This appears to be common, with them stopping working, check or have someone check the power board. The TV will need to be taken apart. I had something like this happen recently...was working one day and not the next, turns out to be bad Capacitors on the power board.

Viewsonic N3250W won't power on

Got the same problem for a N3250. I'm not an electronic engineer and will attempt to fix my TV. Therefore I got the FSP2123F02 ($49.75)and now they have a harness 4WT0062302GP ($8.90) that will do a quick plug and play and will avoid any solder of the pins. That is my understanding can anyone corroborate this procedure. By the way I got both products from electronica-usa.com
I repaired it on June 28th with the lsit of parts above
More deatil information here (of the problem) http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/viewtopic.php?p=149367#149367
