My friend first you have to consider these [a] check weather the amplifier has no ploblem [b] the output of your device in watts and ohms
note:some amplifiers are protected with a fuse between the amplifier and speaker
if the amplifier is still working make sure that the new speaker[12texasheat] output in watts matches with Supreme 4X12 Cabinet output.

I have a Rolland guitar amplifier and the speaker is polling, can I replace this 12 inch 8 ohm speaker with a high Fidelity 12 inch 8 ohm speaker.

You can try another speaker given the rms is the same as the original......or the wattage.....If you get the same results sound wise after replacement......you might want to consider buying something else.

My PPI4240 has gone in to protect mode (red light is on). How do I get it out of protest mode?

protect comes on bfor several reasons:

1. short circuit/crossed speaker wires- examine the speaker cables very carefully, paying particular attention to loose strands at the ends that may be crossing.

2. blown speaker/fried vioce coil- push in on the speaker and it should push down about an inch with no resistance befopre bottoming out. if there is resistance, and/or it feels scratchy/rubbing when pushing in then the speaker is blown.

3. blown amp.

Can kicker 1000x1 amp detect if my speaker is bad and turn itself off?

The Kicker 1000x1 Amplifier does not turn off if their is an Open Line (blown sub) on the Speaker Terminals.

  1. Remove all Speaker Wiring from the Amplifier, leaving the Power, Ground, Remote, and RCA wires plugged in.
  2. If the Amplifier fails to turn on, check your Remote wire for power.
  3. If the Remote wire is powering up with the Head Unit (should be anywhere from 5-12 Volts), check your Power wire for +12 Volts, and check your Ground wire.
  4. If you are getting +12 Volts Power and your Remote wire is putting out 5-12 Volts but your Amplifier still won't turn on, it will need to be serviced.

How do run a dual2ohm 12 to a 2 channel amp

You need to match your amp impedance to your speaker impedance. If your amp is a four ohm amp; then follow the wiring diagram for the dual voice coil speaker to have a four ohm load. If you don't have the diagram, look up the model number on the web, it will be posted somewhere. Do not hook it up so that you are mismatched, as you will very soon have a blown amp, a blown speaker, or both!

My amp keeps going into some safe mode and red light blinks and stops base to my sub. I have it hooked up to 1 15.4 Orion HCCA.

The "safe mode" on your amp usually kicks in for two reasons - the ohm load on the sub is too low for the amp (presenting a "short" to the amp), or it's going into thermal protection because the amp is too hot. From your description, it sounds like there's a short in the wire, the sub's ohm load is too low, or the sub is partially blown.

If you have another sub or speaker, connect it to the amp's output and see if the amp still goes into protection mode. If the amp goes into protection with a known-good speaker, then there may be something wrong with the amp's power supplies. If the amp works properly with another speaker or sub, then I would check the sub that's causing it to short out.

You may also want to check whether or not the amp is over heating by just touching the amp when it goes into protection. If it's just warm, that should be ok - if it's hot, then it might be working too hard. In this case, you may need to check the input voltage (12-14VDC) and the size of the power and ground cables. If your ground isn't properly connected, it can cause weird problems like over heating, shorts, erratic behavior, etc...

Smoke was coming out of my subs and it was alot.

Open the sub box and see what it looks like before you go purchasing stuff with no problem for certain. You may have had wires touch and they will smoke. Also try connecting a different speaker to the amp and see if it works. this lets you know if the amp/speaker is working or not

1000 w sony xplode works at low volume then red lights at volume5

Most likely one of your subs are blown, or the Ohm's are too low for the ampliphier. Try hooking up one speaker at a time to the amp and see if it does the same thing. If it shuts off on one of the two speakers, that speaker is most likely blown.

My Hifonics BX1500d is still going in protection mode... can that be fixed? greets Gerben

sorry, i am in the US. I couldnt begin to tell you where to get your amplifier repaired.

Try contacting HiFonics at www.maxxsonics.com

There are 3 possible conditions a HiFonics amplifier will go into protection -

Ground Loop - Blown or damaged speaker causing damaged Output FET.

Power Supply Failure - Blown Capacitors, Damaged FETs, Faulty Relays.

Thermal Shutdown - Excess Heat.

Mono channel amplifiers are the simplest to work on - and I would Estimate a repair cost of $75USD if it is a simple FET replacement.

Look at one hour of labor plus parts.

Hope this helped.

Stereo System Not Working

Often time, if a speaker wire gets "grounded out," in other words when a speaker wire gets shorted to the chassis of the car, it will prevent sound. Best thing is to check through the system with a multimeter

Protection Light irritation

If the amplifier goes into protect when there are no speaker wires connected to the amp, the amp is likely defective. The most likely culprit is shorted output transistors. If it's new, return it to the place of purchase for repair/replacement.
