4GB iPod Nano Screen Problem

Suddenly, the screen on my iPod has "faded" and there are lots of tiny lines going through it. When the backlight goes out, you can barely see the screen; everything is in black or "negative."

Try going into your itunes and restoring the factory settings, I had lines on my ipod and this solved the problem, you will just have to re add the songs again

Do the 5 R's:

These are for Nano, but they apply to all iPods:

Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore

Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If

one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.

â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.

â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.

â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates

installed.

â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.

â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page whatever.

Backlight

Hi Em,

You wanted to turn off permanently the backlighting on your IPod Nano? Your player uses that backlighting in order for users to see the display during poor lighting conditions.
If you really wanted to switch it off, you can access the backlighting settings on your player; Select Setting then go to Backlight Timer, Choose the option that suite your need
(Always On, Off, Turn off after a period of time between 2 and 20 seconds) or you can press and hold the Menu button down to toggle the backlight on your player to on or off.
