Question about Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player

Help im using the device manager and it says failed to repair device please reconnect the device to the computer. Please close all applications accesing the device and retry. I reconnected it and I do not have any applications accesing the device.

Restart the computer and then try it. If that doesn't work install and reinstall the software.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS:

Try doing a soft reset first.

  1. Insert a small pin or unfolded paperclip into the reset hole located at the back of the player.
  2. Hold until the player shuts down.
  3. Power on the player again by using the Power on/off key.
Note: Your songs and data will not be lost or corrupted by a soft reset.

If soft reset does not work, then you may have to use the Device Manager to REPAIR/RECOVER your player (Note: For some models, a Repair can be performed using Philips Songbird).

If you have not already installed the Device Manager, follow the on screen instructions to install the Device Manager from the installation CD or download the latest version of the Device Manager application from http://www.philips.com/support.
  1. Make sure all other applications Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. Launch the Device Manager at Start->Programs->Philips Device Manager on your PC. Select the REPAIR tab on the dialogue box.
  2. Power off the player. Press and hold the "+" key and then connect it to the PC until you are prompted to release the key.

My gogear, when pluged into my laptop just charges but my loptop does not recognize it, my mp3 reads ''its ok to disconnect''

What do i do... i have been getting a system error file... cant play music or anything...please help me

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird or device manager depending on which software is used on your MP3 player. If your model number starts with SA1..... your player supports device manager. If it starts with SA2.... then it uses Philips Songbird. You can install them from the CD that came with your player or download it from Philips support site.
Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.

Format:
On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.

Every time i turn on my mp3 it goes to uploading and stays at 40 %. I've already reset it and this still doesnt help

Most likely this kind of problems occurs when the Mp3 Player's Firmware Corrupted, In Order to Fix that you shud upgrade/install the Firmware to your Mp3 Player.Please Follow these Steps to Fix Your Problem:

  1. Download the attached zip file into a temp folder of your PC
  2. Unzip the file into the temp folder and then double click theDM_WEB_ENG.exe file to install the latest version of the Device Manageron your PC
  3. Follow screen instructions to complete the installation of the latest version of the Device Manager application on your PC..
  4. Connect the GoGear to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter.
  5. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Device Plug-in,Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that accessing the device areclosed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. Launch theDevice Manager at Start->Programs->Philips DeviceManager->Philips Device Manager on your PC.
  6. Select the REPAIR tab on the dialogue box and then click Repair to start repairing.
    IMPORTANT: All music & content of the device will be erased once the GoGear is repaired.
  7. Once the repair is complete a dialogue box will pop up; click OK andunplug the GoGear from the computer. Follow all screen instructions tocomplete the repair.
  8. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message isdisplayed. Close all opened application and then unplug your device.
Once the GoGear is disconnected from the computer, the display willshow “Firmware Upgrading” for a couple of seconds and then start up asusual. You will then need to re-sync the GoGear using Windows MediaPlayer to place your files back on the GoGear.

Please Reload the BlackBerry Device Software using Application Loader.
Following are the steps.

Note:The following procedure will delete either all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the BlackBerry smartphone data before proceeding

BlackBerry Device Software using BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.5 to 5.0, perform the following step

  1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. Click Help
  3. Select About Desktop Manager
  4. Click the Device Software tab
  5. Verify that the BlackBerry Device Software displayed is the latest version currently available from the wireless service provider
  6. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  7. Double-click Application
  8. Click Start under Update Software to start the installation process.
  9. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK.
  10. Select Options under Device Software Options.
  11. Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications to be loaded, and then click Next.
  12. Click OK > Next > Finish.
  13. When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Close to return to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  14. Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications to be loaded, and then click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
