Start by going into the "wrench" (spanner?) icon, then over to "CSM/Setup menu. Select the "full" option, then you should be able to access 1-17 in the Custom Setting Menu.

Language changed. i want to change to english

Turn on the camera and press the Menu button, then press the right arrow button to move over one column to the Setup menu (looks like two tools). Scroll down to the language selection..... example which you can see...

On my dsc-h2 it's in Menu >scroll to the right to Setup (last on the list) > scroll down to Setup 1 (toolbox icon) > click right on the wheel (flower icon) > scroll down to the third option (folder with an A icon) > click right again and look for English.
If the steps are different for your model sony, you can download a users guide from sonystyle.com customer support page. Thanks.

How do I set the time and date on a Panasonic DMC-LZ4

1. Press the menu/set button. This will bring up a menu.
2. Press arrow left (the button left of the menu/set button).
3. Press arrow down (the button below the menu/set button). This will select the setup menu (so, a wrench icon should be brighter than an icon of a camera).
4. Press arrow up or down (these buttons are above and below the menu/set button respectively) to highlight clock set.
5. When clock set is highlighted press the right arrow button (button right of the menu/set button).
6. Press right or left to select what settings you want to change.
7. Press up or down to get numbers according as you want them.
8. Repeat 6. and 7. as desired.
9. Press menu/set several times to exit menu options.

Is it normal for the D3000's screen to turn off with in 5 secs or less after i turn in on and take my first pic???

Assuming you haven't changed the auto-off timers, yes. The default time-out for image review is 4 seconds.

The auto-off timer settings are in the Setup menu. Press the MENU button, select the wrench icon, and scroll down.

Problem with nikon coolpix 8700

Same problem that would not allow me to take a picture without pressing the LOCK button on my Nikon 8700. Here is how I believe I fixed the problem:

Turn the camera ON.

Press MENU button on your camera to bring up the menu.

Scroll down to SET-UP, open the SET-UP menu by scrolling right.

In the SET-UP menu, scroll all the way down to FUNC (Controls) on page 2/3 , open the FUNC (Controls) menu by scrolling right.

You are now presented with 2 options:FUNC and AE-L, AF-L)

Select the FUNC option by right scrolling.

Choose the 2nd option: i.e the mountain, flower and timer icon (distance, macro and self-timer icon) by right scrolling.

Press the MENU button to get out of the menu.

Attempt to take a picture without pressing LOCK.

Should work! Anyways, it worked for me.

Cheers.
