Default login password is 'admin'. If you are on the view database settings page, you don't need that password, just leave it as is. If you are trying to switch to one of the sample databases, the password is still 'admin' unless you changed it already using the CHANGE PASSWORD under FILE menu.

I just finished setting up my inventory in RPE and about to set it up instore. When I go to view database (File: view database) it says that only advanced users should change database settings. The...

Judy, leave it alone. The standard bd name in RPE is 'cresql'. RPEIsland Cafe is a sample database that comes with software. Instead of starting from scratch, you must have started modifying the sample to fit your needs. This is fine. The name will not effect your operations and will not appear on anything you need or print. It can be changed, but not by a novice. Several technical steps involved and a need for the password.

The drawback to using the sample db is items in inventory that you don't need or departments that are not wanted.

We use PC America Restaurant Pro Express at our restaurant. I had a server delete invoices before they were closed out (but after the customer had paid her cash). I was able to find this out by matching...

The server may have had your admin password. The default password is common knowledge by searching the web. This should be changed or disabled. The information you need is in the database. It will even give you the server ID that deleted the transaction. Someone familiar with querying an SQL database is what you need. I can help you, but not for free. Too much time and experience needed.

hi teriyakijet,
What have you gone and done now. By saying NO, you can run software as usual except, you can't process a credit card transaction thru the system. The only fix for this is the correct password or PCAmerica tech support. Keep in mind that this password is not the main password for your system. This password was entered at time of setup. It only looks for this password if you try connecting another POS to it. They have to match. Reinstalling will not help because it resides in the database and is encrypted. A fresh database would fix problem, but you would loose everything. Inventory, menu, company info, invoices, etc.

My admin password for Restaurant pro express version 12.0006 suddenly stopped working... HELP!

Try using the default ones. They are ID of 01 and password admin. If this lets you in, go to EMPLOYEE MAINTENANCE and make sure account has not been disabled, then reset the password.
If the defaults don't work, you could restore database from a backup.
If you don't have a recent backup, you will need to add an administrative account to the database manually. This would require technical assistance from me or PCAmerica.

I forgot my admin password and need to reset it

Have you tried the default settings: 01/admin
Assuming you have or changed it, then you have to go directly into the SQL database and reset it using another program like SQL Server Management Studio Express. This is not for novices and can destroy your program's database if used incorrectly.
If, by luck, you are using employee swipe cards, open notepad and swipe your card. The password may be displayed if all tracks on card are being read by your MSR.

Syncing client with server - Restaurant Pro Express

Your getting a connection successful because your looking at the localhost. The server would be the network name of your server. And the password is case sensitive and is pcAmer1ca. (Note the number 1, not an i)
