Open Question

I have a honeywell ct3400 thermostat and I'm having problems with the heat coming up' I use the settings: morning, daytime, night, and evening but the heat doesn't come up. Is there some kind of video demo so I can see if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

SOURCE: HONEYWELL CM921 ROOM THERMOSTAT

Remember the is a time and temperature controller if you want to use as an ON/OFF controller please ensure you OFF times are set to LOW temperatures for example at 8:00am I want the boiler firing to 21°C at 10:00 I want the boiler to go OFF at 5°C so ensure all so called OFF times are set to LOW temperatures.

SOURCE: heat pump auxiliary heat does not turn on

Turn up your outside thermostat in the outside unit.
You should have about 3 degrees difference in one stage to the next. So I would change the thermosat with one that has three stages of heat.

SOURCE: heater comes on at 5:10 am prior to the programmed setting

Access the installer setup menu (You will need the installation manual from the t'stat to do this) and turn off the "intelligent recovery" feature. This feature turns the equipment on in order to bring the conditioned area up to temp at the set time. Or you could set the "wake time" to 6:50!!!

Honeywell CT3400. New batteries but touch pad has become unresponsive

Turn the furnace power off for 10 minutes (the control wiring up to your thermostat is powered from a transformer in the furnace) & turn it back on. Make sure you have 24 volts to the Red wire on the thermostat.

The model of T-stat you gave comes up as a discontinued model on Honeywell's web site, but it looks to be a manual stat that type of stat would have to be wired with a summer winter switch with electric heat, allowing it to turn on the fan with a call for heat. If yours is a programmable T-stat you would need to select electric heat or in the installers set up change the default setting for fan from unit controls fan in heat to thermostat controls fan.

if you cross the two wires and you see a slight spark and heat comes on, then the problem is in the thermostat, if not then problem is at furnace it self.

Honeywell round mercury thermostat - heat not coming on

If you tip the mercury switch so that it makes contact and the furnace doesn't start, it isn't the t-stat. Check the connections, then start checking the furnace.
In any case, ditch the mercury t-stat (recycle it properly) and get a new programmable one if at all posible. It will pay for itself many times over by turning your heat down in the middle of the night and back up by morning.
