How to Clean Wooden furniture The tips below explain how to clean wooden furniture, but an essential part of everyday maintenance is to place protective mats or pads under them to prevent the wood from scratching - otherwise, your efforts will be in vain.

I lost the manual and I don't know how to hook up the parts for cleaning furniture

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I would like to assist you but I would need a brand name such as Hoover, Eureka, Kirby, etc. to know where to direct you in the search for an owner’s manual for your vacuum, supply me with the name brand and Model # and I can re-direct you in the proper location.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
Thanks, Don the Vac Man

How to hook up tool to clean upholstery

Keep your upholstered furniture looking fresh by vacuuming it regularly with the upholstery tool attached to your vacuum's hose. Prevent the fabric from fading (or at least delay this) by keeping your furniture out of direct sunlight -- close blinds, shades or curtains when the sun shines most directly through windows closest to the upholstery. And remove stains by blotting them with a dry cleaning solvent. Before steam cleaning your upholstered furniture, read the piece's cleaning code label to determine whether or not it is safe to do so. Then rent or buy a steam cleaner (also called an extractor) and follow the directions below.

  1. Rent a steam cleaner or purchase one; buy steam cleaner solution.
  2. Step 2 Vacuum the upholstery on the furniture you wish to steam clean; use the upholstery attachment to most effectively **** up loose debris.
  3. Step 3 Test the steam-cleaner solution on the upholstery in an inconspicuous place to ensure the color won't be steamed out or drastically altered.
  4. Step 4 Attempt to remove any stains with a stain removal or dry cleaning solution. Follow the directions that come with the product you choose for the best results, and allow the stain remover to dry before you begin steam cleaning.
  5. Step 5 Remove cushions and, if necessary, arm covers.
  6. Step 6 Gently apply the steaming water and cleaning solution in straight lines across the upholstery one section at a time.
  7. Step 7 Use the cleaning extension on the steam cleaner to **** up as much water as possible. The dirt will come out with the water.
  8. Step 8 Clean one side each cushion (then allow it to dry) before cleaning the other side. If the cushions are permanently attached to the furniture, clean them last.
  9. Step 9 Allow the furniture to dry completely before repeating the steam-cleaning process or replacing the cushions.

I lost my instruction manual to my hooversteamvac and need to know how to hook up the upholstery tool

Hi There,

I'll be happy to walk you through step by step how you can attach the hose to your Hoover SteamVac.

Here are step by step instructions for you:

Step 1. To prevent possible leaking, remove
clean solution tank by pressing down on
tank handle (D) and pulling forward; set
tank aside (do not set tank on furniture).
Remove hose from storage rack.

Step 2: Step on handle release pedal (E) and
lower carpet cleaner handle until it rests
on the floor.
Unlatch back part of recovery tank and
remove lid.

Step 3: Remove recovery tank front panel (F)
by sliding it straight up.

Step 4. Replace panel with converter (G).
Slide converter halfway down opening
until it is firmly in place.

Step 5. Before connecting tube (H) to
cleaner, make sure black tabs are
extended by pulling tan collar toward
tube.
Open door on hood labeled “Stair/
upholstery Cleaning Connection”. Press
round solution tube connector onto
round projection inside door. Press connector
collar down firmly to ensure
that it is fully connected.

Step 6. The tank replaces in a hinge-like
manner. Position front of lid under tabs
(I) on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto
tank.
Make sure lid is secure on all sides
before cleaning.
For full suction, it is important that
the recovery tank lid is properly
secured before cleaning.
Reverse procedure to remove hose
and solution tube.
Raise carpet cleaner handle to upright
position.

I have a dirt devil featherlite deluixe carpet shampooer and lost manual, how do i use to clean my furniture?

remove the "remove to attach hose" plate.. that is where the hose connects, plug the solution line into the little nipple below the tank on the right side. then you turn it on. Suction will be redirected to the hose, and the trigger on the hose sprays the solution.

Shampoo furniture

I have had a Kirby for over 20 years and yes you can shampoo your furniture. You do it just as you would your stairs or as if you were spot cleaning. There is really nothing to it.

How do I attach and use the shampooing attachment...
Posted by rottylvr on May 08, 2008
I have a Kirby Vacuum and Carpet Cleaner that I know how to use, all except the attachment that I am not sure about. I am not sure if it is a vacuuming attachment or can I attach it and use it to clean my couch, I do not have the user guide for my vacuum as I got it from my son's ex girlfriend in lieu of money she owed me. It looks like it should be used for shampooing things like stairs and furniture, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out! Can you please help me? Tell me how to attach it if it is supposed to be used to clean stairs and furniture or tell me where I can find the user guide to look at and see how to use it......Oh by the way I have a 160 pound rottweiler that tries to live on my furniture and my couch is in desperate need of cleaning, this is my only day off and I have spent all day cleaning carpets due to my dog and would love to clean my couch before returning to work and putting my dog in the back yard now that it is warm enough for him to be outside all day.
Thanks,
Desperate to reclaim her couch

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. My suggestion is that you contact the Kirby Co in Cleveland listed below and they will instruct you either to down load a owner’s manual or they will mail one out to you, there might be a local Kirby dealer in your area that might have a manual as well. Also, there is a separate shampoo head that will be in the owner’s manual, you remove the vacuum head and bag assm and attach the shampoo head, make sure you use genuine Kirby shampoo for the carpet. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Furniture cleaning isn't a science: try out a few techniques before choosing the one that is right for your belongings. This step-by-step guide explains how to clean a sofa:
  1. Before using any upholstery cleaning products, vacuum the sofa or chair first to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible. Be sure to use the correct attachments to avoid damage to the material - a soft brush attachment is ideal.
  1. Spot Clean. Using baby wipes or vinegar poured onto a strong microfiber cloth, apply to any obvious stains, wiping gently as you go. Remember to test the upholstery cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first.
  1. Overall Clean. Using soapy water and a microfibre cloth, gently wipe your sofa with the solution, allowing it to soak into the fabric and tackle the dirt beneath the surface. You only want to use a very small amount of water - don't saturate the material.
  1. Dry. Some people use a hairdryer to quickly dry a sofa, but allowing it to dry naturally is always the better option, if you have the time. To speed things up, open windows and allow the breeze to help with the drying process.

I can't get solution to come through my hose attachement to clean furniture

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5881-900 Vacuum. It sound to me that you may have a defective pump or switch, the sprayer or solution should not spray out unless you use the trigger. Question? How old is the machine – if it is less than one year this would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and if it is more than one year than you may want to check the trouble shooting part of the owner’s manual or to call the Hoover tech support line @ the factory. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
