Question about Panasonic BT-LH900

2 Answers

Panasonic BT-LH900P monitor There is a crack adjacent to the male multi-pin "control" connector on the back of the monitor as if someone jammed the connector into the body. Can I simply undo the 10 or so screws I see and replace the back? If so, where can I buy that item?

Thanks for the advice but NOT fixing it is not an option. The monitor was being rented when the crack occurred and I can get the renter to pay the repair cost, if I can't do it myself. Leaving the crack will also reduce the resale value.

Yes, it can be done , but the part is not available for sale regularly. You will either have to get it from another unit (one that's used for parts - either from a shop or Craigslist and similar) or order it directly to Panasonic - and this is going to be very expensive.

Uncle Dale,
Remember the old American saying, "If it aint broke, dont fix it". Works perfectly here. If your monitor is working fine then please do not try to fix a thing that you can live with. Only you would have to be careful while handling it. I have seen very many cases here on FixYa where customers have started doing one thing and ended up with many more problems. And as it is on the back of the monitor, how does it matter.

Missing adapter or plug in connection to 15 balance mointor model 2015

The Balance CM2015 monitor uses a VGA connector,

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Balance-CM2015-15-LCD-Monitor-Black-/52125929

(The above is for reference only. Not advertising)

A VGA connector is also referred to as a 15-pin D-Sub connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

This is information on a DVI cable, and DVI connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If this is the monitor cable you have, you need this type of adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Now LOOK closely.
This adapter has male pins that stick out, and go into a female VGA connector on the monitor. The DVI side of this adapter has socket holes, for a male DVI cable.

IF, your monitor has a male VGA connector on it, and the DVI cable you have has socket holes, you need this adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dvitovga.html

If your monitor cable is not a DVI cable, post back with the style it is.
If nothing else post how many pins are in the connector on the cable, and how they are arranged.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

I would like to know what adapter (DVI to VGA Cable Adapter) I need to connect to a Macintosh G4. Thanks

Without knowing what Model Number of MAC G4 you're referring to, I can only give you generic information.

If your MAC G4 has a DVI port it is generally the female style.
The DVI connector on the adapter will need to be a male DVI style.

The VGA end of the adapter will be either male, or female. Most VGA connectors on a monitor cable have a male VGA end.

(The DVI end will have the pins sticking out on the adapter. The VGA end will have the socket holes)

Also stated as the monitor cable end will be a DVI male. The port {Connection} on the computer is a VGA female)

Example of a DVI male to VGA female adapter,

http://sewelldirect.com/dviaftovgam.asp

Barring that you need the other style of DVI to VGA adapter, (DVI female on the monitor cable, VGA male on the computer), this is an example,

[ Note* The newer VGA connectors are also known as an HD-15 connector.
More information on the Video Graphics Array connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

More information on the DVI connector styles, and the Digital Visual Interface technology,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If you should find all of this confusing, simply state in a Comment as to what connector is on the end of the monitor cable, and what connector is at the computer.

State whether the connectors are Male (Pins sticking out), or Female (Socket holes)

Phoneline has 4 pin male connector, printer has 6 pin female slot . . . .What do I do now?

If the 4 pin male connector is the same shape as the 6 pin female slot (but just a bit shorter) then it should fit centrally in the slot and work just fine
If on the other hand the phoneline 4 pin male connector is a BT connector (completely different shape) then you will need to but an adapter.

How to connect laptop to Panasonic TV LCD TX-L42U2B

Laptop to TV hookup all depends on what the laptop has for output to a monitor and what the TV has for input. Your laptop should have a monitor output, a 15 pin female jack. You need a cable (male to male) with these 15 pin connectors at each end to hookup to a TV with a PC input jack. For the audio, use a 3.5mm stereo audio cable. Hookup from earphone out on the laptop to the TVs PC audio input jack. If the TV has no PC input jacks, there are other ways to connect. See this link:

What do I need to replace my dell monitor with a sony monitor? My dell does not have a removeable cord.

I believe all you need is 15 pin VGA (analog) video cable. The PC and the monitor has female connectors, so you need a male to male cable. Make sure you get a good quality cable or you may get gohsting etc. Confirm the connector type at the back of the PC and the monitor before buy the cable.

4wd light on dash not working, changed switch on shift, bulb in dash and 4x4 computer control behind centre console. Also changed both switches in front axle but still no 4wd. Why?

Dear Fixya,

Solution at hand. I chased the harness to the gearbox. I methodically electrically earth tested each wire-to-switch and visually checked each wire for breaks whilst another kept turning on and off the 4wd switcth on shift. Eventually, at the rear end of the gearbox there is a multi connector of some several wires. One end had a female and the other exposed male pins. On counting the pins I noticed that one pin, on recollection green/red wire had been drawn back into the connector so not making a contact. I therefore, pushed the pin back through so to make a connection. All of the 4wd pneumatics, light on dash and front axles switches now work. That one wire caused total shutdown of the High 4wd system. I assume that during either off-roading or average road use an object, like a branch, fouled the rear connector and dislodged the wire connection.

Thanks for your quick response. Hope the above will help someone in the future.

Kindest regards,

Carl.

Need video jack

I interfaced the SAVV LM-S6001 today. Here's what I found;

Looking straight on at the male 8 pin DIN connector here's how I'll describe it. There are 3 pins across the top row. From left to right I'll call them 8, 7, 6. There are 2 pins on the left side of the middle row, 5 leftmost and 4 adjacent to the center. Moving right, there is a gap and then pin 3 on the rightmost side of the middle row. There are two pins on the bottom row, pin 2 on left and pin 1 on right. Draw that on some paper.

8 7 6
o o o
5 o o o 3
o o
2 1

Pin 1 is +12VDC
Pin 2 is center contact of both audio and video RCA jacks
Pin 3 is -12VDC
Pin 4 is outer RCA contact for Video
Pin 5 -n/c
Pin 6 -n/c
Pin 7 -n/c
Pin 8 is outer RCA contact for Audio

Now, I don't know what pin 7 does, but it is wired next to pin 4 suggesting a video application, Svideo is my best guess. I can only test for a composite video connection that I am using.

It's alive!
