I'm in the same situation. I've done a little research and found that the oven door can be changed out rather easily. If you have your Model # and Serial #, located on the inside bottom left corner, you can call GE (1-877-959-8688) and ask if there is a replacement door in the color you would like available for your model. I haven't contacted GE yet, but plan to do so tomorrow to find out if there is a stainless replacement door for my model (and how much it will cost). Hope this helps...good luck!

There is another option to cover your oven door instead of replacing the entire door itself. Go to www.applianceart.com -- They have options available in solid colors and stainless steel-- they also have designs by artists if you are looking to add some decor to your kitchen appliances. And while they do not have the oven pictures added to their site yet-- all of the covers on the site work for oven doors. Their covers are so easy to install and keep clean--- seems to me to be a much easier solution than replacing the entire door. You can also change them out if you get tired of the color.
Worth checking out. Contact these guys and they will walk you through the whole process.

GE Profile Convection Problem

with GE
SHORTED OVEN SENSOR CIRCUIT
if your comfortable taking the range out of the box, it is a pretty easy repair. The oven sensor is a small tube in the range that "sences" temp.
although it could be the erc, its more than likely the sonsor itself.
it is on the back wall and has to be unplugged from the back to be removed
there are two screws that hold it on the back wall
put the new one in and you should be ready to go
goto appliancepartspros.com
type in your modle number and look in the cavity section
your looking for the oven sensor
they usually run around 20-30 dollars
