freezing up of a computer system is typically caused by incompatible software to hardware or a hardware not recognised by the operating system (OS) . usually a conflict like this is illustrated by error message of blue screen , if its video or memory related.
i would say you may have a corrupt OS installed , in which case, i would reinstall the fresh OS
and work your way up to installing the peripheral drivers.
