If the chips are not fakes then check your soldering for shorts.

For all others who are having convervence failures this is a common problem. You can get all the parts from www.TvRepairKits.com

Your TV will commonly have one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Screen Looks 3D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted
  • No Audio or Video

Tv wont turn on

You need 2 STK392-110 Convergence ICs and possibly 6 2.2 ohm 2watt resistors. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the ICs, resistors and the CD with instructions. The PT47WX42 convergence kit is the correct one for your model.

Panasonic 53" HDTV rear projection tv Blue on screen

I had the same issue. Basically, it's a convergence problem. The video chips overheat. And believe it or not this will happen every 4 or 5 years. I paid $400 to fix my Panasonic big screen tv. To top it off, I believe it was my xbox that did it - well, maybe it just pushed it over the edge since I've also had my tv for 4 years. But I still highly recommend not using an xbox on these big screen tv's since it will shorten the lifespan of the video chips by 50%! Rich www.richbenvin.com
