Buzzes at start up. If you assist spinning drum, it will run normally.

the problem may be a failed start/run capacitor for the motor
have a electrician / service technician check it out
the buzzing will be a frequency vibration caused by the motor as it tries to start but with out the extra voltage generated by the capacitor it will not move

My front end load dryer makes a humming noise when started then goes to pause

Have you checked the drying drum to see if it spins freely? Open the door and verify it spins freely. if it does then the motor may just be in a bad spot. usually after spinning the drum a turn or two it will get it running. it humms and clicks because of the motor not turning and trips an thermal overload switch and you have to wait for it to reset. Now if the drum dosent turn then you have a problem with drum rollers or something stuck in the way of the drum.

Kenmore Heavy Duty Plus Dryer 86273100 drum won't spin

How could the belt be in working order if the drum doesn't spin? Check to see if the belt has come off the motor. If the motor runs but your dryer doesn't spin, the belt is off. If the motor runs with the belt on but it still won't spin then you'll have a lot of black smoke because your drum is jammed. In other words, there are a number of things that could be wrong, but not very many.

Ge dryer model #DHDSR46EE1WW. Dryer will not run- just makes loud humming noise. Replaced the start switch and it still will not run at all. PLEASE HELP!

You most likely have a bad motor. Try to spin the dryer drum by hand with the door open, door swich held or taped down, and while pressing start. This will likely get the motor going. If this works try closing the door and starting it again. If it works now the motor may have just had a hard time starting do to it's position or the drum's postition. If it only works when you help it out manually you have a bad motor or maybe a sticky drum/jammed belt/etc. Good luck!

remove the lid and check for the belt being in place, if not then you need another, if its in place then the problem is electrical regarding the motor, possibly a capacitor, maybe the motor itself hope i have helped a little
