Question about NEC MultiSync LCD1735NXM (Silver, Grey) Monitor

1 Answer

My NEC multisync lcd1735nxm desktop display (monitor) is dark. When you initially turn it on it flashes the desktop for less than a second then goes dark. The power button stays on and if the image on the desktop is high in contrasts, I can almost see it from up close. If i turn it off and back on, I get the same result each time (it flashes on then goes dark). I have tried a different monitor on my computer and it works. I have tried my monitor on a different computer and i get the same problem. I assume the problem is with my monitor and not my computer. Is there a way to fix the monitor? Or do I have to throw it away and buy a new one?

The problem is definitely with your monitor. Yes, you can have it fixed but with the price of parts and labor it is not cost effective and it will be cheaper for you to get a new unit with a warranty to boot!

SOURCE: Problem with an NEC MultiSync 1550V 15" LCD

The power supply section may be failed, or there may be a short on one of the boards causing the monitor to cycle through the protect mode.

SOURCE: nec multisync lcd 2080ux no raster no power indicator light.

If u a tech, try checking the PSU of the monitor for blown fuse or dead driver element ( typically a FET, Power transistor or an Hybrid chip) . U need to take the monitor apart, if unfamiliar, get it to a service tech.

You have to install the nec driver for this monitor. I have the same monitor. Im looking for the driver now. There are 2 versions of this monitor with the same model # . You will need to find the driver to the touchscreen model.

Look for bad caps with bulging top in the power supply first, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps (after about 2 years): http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Sound not playing correctly via the speakers on the monitor Back ground music but no voice

sounds to me like you may have the monitor speakers connected to the wrong port. It typically connects to the computers Green speaker jack. If it is connected properly, look in the control panel for audio/ speaker properties, change the speaker configuration to stereo speakers, instead of 5.1 speakers. you are likely hearing the rear channel of 5 speaker setup at the moment.
