Question about Vizio P50HDTV10A 50 in. Plasma HDTV
Usually this kind of problem is caused by either the backlight/inverter part of the circuitry inside, or a bad solder connection inside somewhere.
Unfortunately you've done just about all you can try without taking the TV apart for a professional type of repair. It is a very strange part with flat screens that simple and unconnected changes can change how they behave (such as you changing the mains lead). The lead won't actually fix it at all, but I do see many I repair here that last longer when not used on extension cables and that type of thing. Eventually they all fail completely though, and need either resoldering or parts replacing inside.
With yours, because it stays on for a few minutes, it's most likely the inverter circuit. Some go faulty completely, but others just last a few minutes and then shut down, so your TV screen just goes black. The TV will then usually go back onto standby mode (or off completely).
If it's a dry solder joint inside, then they tend to work for a while till the screen gets warm, then the solder moves a fraction of a millimetre - just enough to break contact 100%, and the TV turns off.
The size of this type of TV means they are quite complicated to fix, mainly as the insides are so complicated to even take apart. Smaller flat screens are quite simple inside, but everything above 22 inch LCD types is made very differently.
I suggest finding a repair shop to get a repair quote on that inverter check/replacement. It's likely to be expensive, but worth it for such a size of TV.
Sorry i don't have any better help than that, hope you manage to get it fixed.
