I have a Whirlpool Duet Dryer that indicates the "Control [is] Locked. The problem somehow began while I was away over the weekend and it no longer allows me to start the dryer. (I have a total of four washer/dryer units in the house and have not had a problem with any of them until now.)

This is a common issue with Whirlpool Duet washer however; your whirlpool duet washer needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE/CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

You don't give a model number, is this applicable? Select and hold END OF CYCLE SIGNAL for 3 seconds until the CONTROL LOCKED Status light turns off.

To unlock it press the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 15 seconds and the unit will reset.

Press and hold the end of cycle button for 15 seconds this should clear it.
Control locked

Press and hold the End of Cycle button for 3 seconds or until the Control Locked indicator turns off. Unplug the machine for at least 30 minutes to forcibly reset the control and to eliminate the possibility of an electronic glitch if pressing and holding the End of Cycle button does not work. Replace the control if unplugging and the pressing the End of Cycle button fails to unlock it.

Activate the diagnostic test mode.
1. Within 5 seconds, press more time-less time-more time-less time.
2. All indicators should now be on and "88" displayed.
3. Press dryness level button. All LEDs in group should turn off.
4. Press control on button. Control locked should turn off.
5. Open door. Press cancel.

On Duet models, Press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Locked feature.
