Re: not making ice
Reason Numero Uno: Frozen Fill Tube
These units have the fill tube in the freezer ceiling that can keep
freezing up. The cure is to replace the existing fill tube with a new
kit from Whirlpool, consisting of a modified fill tube and a fill tube
heater. You can buy it here.
This, of course, assumes the icemaker and level sensing circuitry are
attempting to function normally. You can test the icemaker by manually
initiating a harvest cycle. Do this by pulling the front cover off the
icemaker and jumpering out test points T and H with an insulated wire. The other most common problem is bad optics circuit boards. Keep reading. Reason Numero Duo: Bad Optics Circuit Boards
If the red status LED is not lit on your ice level sensor receiver
(it’s the only LED in there, Hoss, so don’t go gettin’ all cross-eyed
on me ’cause I’m using fancy words), then you may have bad optics
circuits. Close the freezer door and wait five minutes, then open it
back up. If still no status light, then you need to replace the optics
boards, emitter and receiver. You can buy them here.
Hope that helps!

New Icemaker Not Producing Ice - GE Appliances
New Icemaker Not Producing Ice. If the refrigerator icemaker has just been installed, there are a few things that must happen before it can produce ice:
Does the icemaker bucket has ice cubes. If yes then your problem is in the dispensor. If no ice cubes on the icemaker bucket then your problem is with the ice maker unit.
Let say Ice cubes on the ice maker bucket and dispensor makes noise when pressing for ice cubes. Then either your ice dispensor flapper is frozen or may be ice cubes in bucket may have defrost and frozen again sticking together.
if this box is a 2001 or newer it has a filter in water line. if this is it take filter and bypass that whole filter. also these boxs have main control located back of box and all fuctions go thru this board. If older than 2001 check icemaker were plugs in. You can force ejectors to make the ice maker run. cycle icemaker check for power at water valve. The ice maker valve is the small line
first please check you water delivery chanel behiend icemaker, it may freeze up...
second you water valve on bottom part on the back is duel( one valve for water dispencer and another one for ice maker) you have to check if it is a power going to that icemaker valve, unplug icemaker inside freezer and plug back now check for power but you have acting fast, ask somebody for help...
and third it could be icemaker it self...
good luck for additional questions please email@example.com
Pour about 1/2 cup of water into icemaker . If it makes ice and dumps , replace the water valve . If ice stats in the tray , replace the icemaker . Also , check the hose going into the icemaker , to make sure it isn't frozen . If it is , replace the water valve . And , make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc ...An icemaker has to be 5 degrees to dump and dirty coils will raise the temp above 5 degrees .
If temps are ok, then be sure you ice ben is in properly. if that checks ok, check for water/ice in ice maker mold....Try turning unit off and then on in 5mins. this resets the ice maker...if that doesnt work, need to check for power at icemaker. good power means bad icemaker. no power means bad board.(usually) Would suggest you to have a cert GE Sercvice company look at it if no power to ice maker.
Not sure what u mean my supply valve.. that would be in back.. never seen one freeze... check the water vave in back... thats where icemaker water is supplied from.. check for continity or make test wire and put power to valve and see if water makes it to the icemaker.. only need to power for few seconds
