I know there is a termostat behing the plate, but there are multiple parts, and I can't tell which one is the termostat and I don know that model number and visited many sites to try and figure out what to order, hense my problem, model # is TQ18QBW, MFG # is P1111305ww and the serial # is 9107099870, I know it is the termostat, but knowing which part to actually replace, ordering the part and then replacing the part are the problems. Once I figure out and order the correct part, is it easy to just replace?
You havn't told me anything that I didn't already know.

Also this is not a microwave, but an amana refridgerator. Not sure why you think it is a microwave, they don't keep things cool.

Behind that plate is the thermostat, it's worn out and it sticks . Unfortunately we don't know the exact model number of your unit- you never posted it - so i can't find out if the part can be bought online, from a site. Because of that all i can say is to go to the manufacturers site, find the contact phone number and ask them what is the closest repair shop to your house that has your part in stock and how much it will cost.

This is how it looks like

Replacing it is quite easy - it's plugged in. If this doesn't fix it then the control board is faulty and it will have to be replaced.

American fridge freezer power on lights on in both sides. Set to maximum cold setting but freezer temp is only just lower than fridge, which is not as cold as it would normally be.

Freezer works but frig not cooling

if you were to reach your hand towards the rear inside the fridge area can you feel cold air blowing into the refrigerator side if not this could either be due to the fan inside the freezer area not working or there is a small door that is controled by a thermostat inside the ceiling of your refrigerator this thermostat when it reaches a tempreture that is to warm it opens a small door in the rear that connects to the freezer allowing cold air to come into the refrigerator side when the refrigerator becomes cold enough the thermostat then shuts the door. You could also have a defrost issue inside the freezer area in which u would need to remove the rear panel in the rear of the freezer in order to assure you did not have this issue. If you remove the rear panel and you see any ice build up on the evaporator coil (note this is also where the fan that blows the cold air into your refrigerator is located)you would have a defrost issue. If you remove that rear panel and find any ice build up message me back and il instruct how to fix but first check to assure you have air blowing into the refrigerator side. If you dont then you have to diagnose which is causing the issue either the fan which you could hear if you listened inside of the freezer area or the door itself is not opening due to a malfunction with the thermostat if you have any further questions message me back and please also remember when our chat has fully conlcuded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations Thanks

I hope someone can help me. I have a Whirlpool Fridge Model Number WRN52HWG6 and we bought it from Fridge and Freezer City O'Connor Perth about 6 months ago and I don't have the owners manual for it...

If you turn the dial clockwise this will make it colder anticlock less cooler...Start by switching off for a few Hours leave door open to allow defrost...Turn the stat fully anticlockwise to almost off then put it to say 2 o clock position assumming that it will go from 12 to 10,this should allow food to remain cold without freezing.you are looking for about 3/8 Degrees c.....Buy a cheap thermometer this will help to keep you on the right track..Good luck

Icing up in the freezer, loosing cold in the fridge. Sweating down the inside wall between fridge and freezer. Icing up at vegetable drawer.

Pull the fridge our from the wall and vacuum the back wall of it very gently. Also, take the kick plate (just above the floor) off and vacuum that underneath as well. It might not correct the problem but it won't hurt.

Refrigertor not gettng cold enough, and now freezer is doing the same. when we turn the number to 9 you can hear it go on - but still food is defrosting. Milk in frig not getting cold enough. Refrig is...

The evaporator coil behind the cover on the back wall inside the freezer will ice up under normal conditions. Every 8 to 10 hours for around 20 minutes the defrost timer (or in most newer models the electronic adaptive defrost control) will turn the defrost heater on to melt the built up ice. There is a defrost thermostat which prevents the heater from overheating the freezer by breaking the heater circuit when the temp reaches close to 32 degrees F. The entire cooling system shuts off during the defrost cycle and starts back when the timer advances through the cycle.

If this ice is not melted it will continue to build up until the air can’t flow over the coil to circulate the cold air through the freezer and into the fridge. The temperature change in the fridge is usually noticed first followed by the freezer.

If the defrost thermostat is bad it can prevent the heater from coming on OR it won’t turn the heater off when it gets too warm. It is clamped to the evaporator coil at the top to sense the temp. If it appears to be misshapen it is bad.
With an ohm meter it should show continuity when cold and none when warm.
You can also bypass the thermostat to see if the heater comes on then. If it does then you know the thermostat is bad and needs replaced.

The defrost heater is located on the evaporator. It is in a tube which is at the bottom and can also go up the sides of the evaporator. On some types you can see a burnt spot if it’s bad. With an ohm meter it should show continuity from end to end when disconnected from the wiring in the freezer. You can also test the wiring for voltage when it’s in the defrost mode.

If you have a defrost timer you can test it. It can be located under the fridge behind the kick panel on the front. Some are in the fridge with the controls at the top. You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer because that means the timer is not running. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

If you have an adaptive defrost control instead of a timer, replace it if the heater and thermostat test good. It is located in the fridge with the controls in some models and on the back in others.
