Officejet J6480 won't scan. It indicates no

If you have the cd installer for your printer, try to install the driver for scanner... don't forget to disable first the connection of your printer from your computer when installing the driver...

If you don't know the location of the driver, try browsing first the cd installer..

I have a HP Officejet J6480 and I am getting an error that says lcd list needs to be upgraded"

This is an easy resolution open the hp solution centre on the computer and click on settings. In the settings window point to scan settings and select the option scan to setup.
Now a new window will open and in the new window move all the items on the left hand side to the right and then click on update the device or ok and now check you will not face this issue anymore.

MY HP WIRELESS OFFICE JET MODEL #J6480 ALL IN ONE PRINTER WILL NOT SCAN. ATTEMPTING TO DO SO RESULTS IN A POP-UP WINDOW WHICH READS "NO HP DEVICES HAVE BEEN DETECTED>" I HAVE ANHP TOUCH SMART PC RUNNING...

Here is one simple thing to try (not guaranteed but it fixes the problem sometimes):
  • Turn off your OfficeJet
  • Shutdown your PC
  • Turn on your OfficeJet
  • Turn on your PC
  • Try scanning
The reason this this works some of the time is that the software has an incorrect IP address for the OfficeJet.

You might also need to configure your firewall to allow scanning. Try the above first and see if it helps.

If this does not fix the problem, as a temporary work around, there is a way to scan using the web browser on your PC (e.g., Internet Explorer) and type in the IP address of your OfficeJet, which you can get from the front panel of the OfficeJet. You will see an option to scan.
