Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

1 Answer

Slow psp One day I took my memory stick out to say what type of memory stick I should buy, but after, when I tried to use it, it got very slow. Now it goes really slow whenever I scan through the options. It also takes a long time for it to access my memory stick, and when I try to play my music it gets basically messed up. Any solutions?

Hi! memory stick is problem in your play station! Remove the memory stick from the play station! And then you format the memory stick by use of computer! In memory stick you dont install fully! leave some memory space for it! Then you can use it!
thank you...........

Games work really slow on psp merory stick

maybe your game format is CSO... CSO is a compressed file... which means a bigger time to load for the psp from the memory stick...use ISO.. but note that when using ISO the file is bigger than CSO and may be even bigger than its expected size

If the PSP is slow its related to the firmware or with the memory stick that you're using , to fix this concern you can update teh firmware of the PSP and that will make it much faster....

There could be a problem with the circuitry, it might even need to be replaced or sent off for repairs, it shouldnt do that what so ever

Psp memory stick

Rather surprisingly, there are a lot of compatibility issues with the Sony PSP and its Memory Stick devices. As far as I can tell, there are two problems, actually. The first is simply that there are a variety of different specific types of memory sticks, so saying "memory stick" doesn't guarantee that your stick will work with your PSP.
As a result, I strongly encourage people to only buy memory sticks that explicitly say "Compatible with Sony PSP" to ensure that you aren't inadvertently buying the wrong kind.
The second issue is a trickier one and is kind of hard to imagine, except it's been widely reported in the media: There are millions of counterfeit memory sticks circulating in China and throughout Asia, and with the rise of cheap offshore electronics shops online and the pervasiveness of eBay auctions, it's not as hard as you might imagine to end up paying a cut rate for a counterfeit memory stick that actually won't work with ANY device, let alone a PSP.
