Question about Canon PowerShot A530 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The pictures won't download to my computer.

I have downloaded thousands of pictures from my Canon A530 to my PC with no problem. Last week when I linked the camera to the computer's USB ports, I heard the familuar plug in sound, but then nothing happened. Any suggestions?

When I plug the usb cord for the camera it makes the noise, most of the time it won't even show the program thing to use. Once in a while it will pop up. What's going on?

I have a Dell inspiron and have successfully downloaded thousands of
photos from my canon A530 until a month ago.

My computer makes the noise that it recognized the camera is connected but it does not automatically open a download window.
Also, when I go directly into the Zoom Browzer to connect to the camera it will not do that either. Any suggestions?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

you can download it form canon site or kodak easy share software. Download drivers, then install them, then reboot pc, then turn on camera, and finally hook up usb. Then run program or go to my computer and access camera files from there

Cant download pictures to computer

Hello and welcome to FixYa

Please go to a electronics store and buy a USB card reader. I bought one last week and it cost $0.5 so its cheap as dirt. Then simply remove the card from your camera , pop it into the reader and the pictures will appear on a drive like a flashdrive in your my computer folder.

This is a much better option than using the camera's cable as it is faster , safer , saves on your camera battery and you don't need to install any software or drivers.

Kind Regards
Andrea

Try removing the memory card and inserting it again.
Also, does the computer detect the camera properly?
