I can get the audio and video to work but the video is only in black & white. Is this a special cable for GPX?

I want to connect my model PDL 805 DVD player to a TV. The instructions say to use a Video/audio cable ( Video input (yellow), audio inputs (red and white) to connect. I purchased one of these cables with the 1/8 in. plug with with the three connections, plugged it into the Video/Audio out jack. I received the sound but no picture. Is there a cable available from GPX that can be used for this?

The audio video Y cble with 1/4 headphone adapter only gives the audio - I need the video also. I purchased a cable with audio and video jacks and it still did not work. The instructions shows a place for an S-video imput but pictures only a audio/video cable.

I have a Philips soundbar that I have hooked up to my flat screen tv using audio (red, white) cables directly from soundbar to tv and there is no sound coming out.

Be sure you are hooking up the Audio Output from the TV or satellite to the soundbar.

From the satellite box both Audio Output and Video Output go to the TV, and then Audio Output from the TV goes to the soundbar.
Or
From the satellite box Video Output goes to the TV and Audio Output goes to the soundbar.

Trying to hook up Bose AV 321 media system to Samsung LED TV model

You can use a Optical to Analog audio adaptor (found all over the internet for under $30). You'll also need an optical cable that goes between the adaptor and TV. Be sure to set the audio output on the TV settings to PCM audio output, otherwise there will be no output.

My TV has only one place to connect a co-ax cable...there are no other hook ups

The adapter they sold you is wrong. You will need a device called an RF modulator. This box will have video and left/right audio input plugs and then the output will be co-ax to connect to your TV set. Radio Shack does have them, they run about $30. You will probably have to tell them what it is called because usually they do not have a clue. Just tell them you want an RF modulator part number 15-2526

What do I need to hook a HDTV up to an Onkyo TX-DS747 receiver

okay hello, you dont need a HDMI cable as it appears your receiver isnt equiped with that feature. The way you have to do this is if you have a source you run the video chord (yellow chord) then then left and right audio (red and white cable) run them from your souce such as satelite or dvd player or game console.you plug them into your input on your receiver then you run one video chord on the output port on your receiver this will put the sound through your receiver and put just the video to your tv.if your tv has a option to run audio out then you just reverse this pretty much. You run auudio left and right from the audio output on your tv to the input on your receiver.then on your menu on your tv make sure you go to speakers and set them to off and set it to output audio if this option is presented.

if you want to hooked up your dvd player to a tv unit, you can use an rca connector. usually 3 wires for video and L/R audio. to connect with in the tv plug one end of the connector to the component input jack of the tv ( video/audio L/R ). and the other end of the connector just plug to the video/audio output jack of the dvd player.

I am trying to hook up an HD / DVR and my cable serice to a JVC AV2730 TV The TV ony has RF connector (none from HD/DVR box), S-video connector, and Video Component/Y Pb Pr hookups. Which ones do I use? My...

Well first off i am assuming that your jvc ONLY has rf connections?
if so, the most you can do is go get an adaptor from walmart that has inputs for either svideo or components and output for rf.

How to hook up my dvd player to my cable box

Richard,

I would have to guess that you are hooking up a DVD recorder?

If you are then you take the video and audio cables out of the cable box and hook them in to the DVD R input plugs. The output wires go to the TV video/ audio in. Its just like hooking up a VCR.

Now if you are trying to hook the DVD player up to watch movies then you have to hook up the audio/video cables up from the DVD to the back of the TV into your Video 1/2 input. If you have the Component wires you hook them up the same way.

Now if your TV only has the one set of plugs (video/audio) then goto your local Audio/Video store and pick up the A/V cables that have the "Y" or "T" plug on one end.

I hope this helps you.

Need help connecting Receiver to TV, DVD, VCR players

Take the audio outputs on the TV set and connect up to the The video 1 inputs to the receiver, BUT use the audio part of the video 1 input and leave the yellow video input blank. Now turn on the TV set, put the TV set on a channel, turn on the receiver and select the video 1 input and you should have the TV audio coming from the receiver. Good Luck.
