First check the recycle bin and restore anything that is related to it.
That should work, if not, you need to reload the sound driver.
Your computer should have a driver disc that came with it when you bought the computer. If you can not find it, you need to know what type of sound you computer has. Check with the manufacterer of your computer online at the support page. Many times you can find the type of computer you have and all the drivers needed right on the website. You just need to know if it is a Dell and what model or Gateway, HP, ect. and the model number. Most seem to use the Realtec audio driver. You can google it and find free downloads.
