Check the various voltages coming from the power supply board and see if they are all ok, there is a legend on the power supply board to show what voltages are at what pins on the connectors,the 5 volt standby we know is good as long as the set has sound, but check the others

pressing power on button should be for 30 to 40 sec but the flashing lights means there is a hardware problem can find flashing light codes on the net you could try removing ram 1 by 1 c if that works hope this helps if not will keep an eye on this

2) horizontal output +125vdc( HV transformer or flyback, +HV rectifier)
3) all other circuite +12vdc
4) vertical output +80vdc

It sounds like you have a bad power supply (power cord). If you already know someone that can charge your battery, check if their power supply will fit. It probably will. Make sure the plugs (into the laptop) are the same, and make sure the output voltage is the same on both power supplies.

As batts get older they take longer to reach full charge.

There may be a problem with a cell or maybe or a bloc

Batts are made up of sets of cells which make up a bloc.

eg 6 cells = 12 V bloc

Most UPS units have more than 1 bloc inside.

Standard batts can last about 3- 5years, it all depends on use, temp, cost of ups, and type of batt.

Some ups units allow you to check the batts with sofware, 1 other thing you can do is... with the ups powered up and running,do a test by connecting a lamp to the ups and failing the supply, for a short time say 3mins this will test the batts can work on load.

Before you do this make sure your critical load is not powered up.

look at back of ups, it will have rating plate

230V 3000VA
pf= .7 2100WATTS
72V DC

in this case we have a 230Volt 3kVA ups at .7power factor giving a total of 2100watts of power.

batt is 72Volts DC

ups on bench, batt at full charge with lamp load, usually I connect 75% load eg 1575 Watts, then fail supply and time batts to batt alarm point.
recharge and test again.

can be done with any size ups, other way is to put in data into makers web site and they should give approx batt times for different loads.

Or even a cheap replacement laptop power supply as these usually start at 1000 mA which will give you current to spare and have a longer lifetime. most of these cover from 15V to 24V and are either auto switching or manual select for the voltage. Plus you can pick these up from most electronic / big box / supermarket shelves
