On the Dell website it appears that there are only drivers for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista 32-bit. If you are running the 32-bit version of Windows 7 than the Vista driver should work just fine. If you are running a 64-bit version of windows than I would try the XP driver. To find out which version of Windows 7 you are running follow these directions:

1. Go to the start menu and click on Control Panel
2. Click System and Maintenance
3. Click System
4. Under System you will see the system type.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

CAN I PURCHASE A INSTALLATION CD FOR THE PERSONAL ALL IN ONE PRINTER A960

You don't need to purchase it, you can download the installer/driver from Dell official website. Click this LINK, the download page for Dell Printer A960 will open up, select your Operating System from the "Operating System" box, eg. Windows xp, wait for few seconds, all the available download, click the download "Download" button beside the driver's name, a new dialog box will pop up, again click "Download" button below the "Download via your internet browser", download will begin automatically. If you are asked to agree the Dell terms conditions, click "Accept" or "Agree".
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck
Thanks for using FixYa.
Note: There is no driver for Windows 7 for this model, let me know if you have problem with that also.

I need to know how to make my A960 All-In-One compatible with Windows 7

1. If you plugged in your A960 in the USB slot hoping windows 7 would provide the right driver via windows update: Just remove the printer in control panel > printer > rightclick the printer > remove device.

2. No need to use the dell cleanup utility. No need to uninstall under "uninstall software" since it wouldn't show there if the wrong driver was installed by windows automatically (but if you installed a wrong driver manually you may have to).

3. Download the Vista 64-bit Driver R153052.exe (or 32 bit if applicable), links see PudgyOne's post 28 Nov 2009 10:32PM.

4. Install the driver: clicking the R153052.exe first extracts the files to e. g. C:\dell\drivers\R153052. Then rightclick the setup.exe in that folder and change compatibility to Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

Hi and Welcome to Fixya

Connect the printer to your computer via USB cable and download the drivers to this site. You can use the Vista driver since windows 7 and vista are almost the same platform.

I would like to add this printer to my new laptop that is running windows 7 and my disc says it is for Windows through XP. What do I need to do?

You will need to know if you need 32 or 64 bit drivers...

1. Click start.
2. In the left column Right-click on 'Computer', now click 'Properties'
3. You'll see what you need under the System Type entry. (See image below.)
4. Once downloaded, double-click the file and follow the directions.

You can download the drivers from HP: Offiecjet 7410 Windows 7 x32
Officejet 7410 Windows 7 x64

My A960 will not work with 7

This printer is not completely supported in Win7. However, you should be able to use the Vista driver by installing it using the Compatability mode. For exact details see the following:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?journalid=8043C9675C0C3FC2E040AC0A63E976F7&docid=366070#Issue0_11
First uninstall any current software/driver you have for this printer. Click Start > All Programs > Dell Printers > A960 > Uninstall (if you get an error see the above URL for a link to manually uninstall the printer software).

Make sure Windows 7 (use windows update) and Java (java.com) are fully updated. Download and extract (double-click) on the Vista version of the printer driver files.
( http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=-1&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=PRN_ALL_A960&hidos=WW1&hidlang=en&TabIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False ) Note the folder that the files are expanded into. Go to this folder (Computer search or just click to the folder). Find the file named Setup.
Right click on the file and select Properties. In the Compatability tab, check the box labeled Run this program in the compatability mode. In the drop-down menu, choose Vista (Service Pack 2). Click Apply and Okay. Again right click on Setup, and choose Run as Administrator. Click Yes if the UAC window pops up (with Win 7 check the task bar or minimize other windows since it may not take over the screen)

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(the only issue I can see is that the only driver for Vista is for the 32-bit OS; Windows 7 64-bit needs signed drivers and the compatability tab may not fully solve this issue. An alternative option is available in Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate. In that case, you can download two programs from Microsoft and install the XP mode. This runs a virtual XP computer inside your computer. You could then install the all-in-one to the XP computer using the XP driver. The only issue is that you may need to save files to external media to share them between the "machines".)
