Normally the smoke is cause by one or two problems.
1...too much oil in the crankcase, lower oil to correct level and smoke will stop.
2. broken rings, bad valves inside of the engine, major overhaul or replace the engine with a new one is the only repair for this problem.

If it's coming from around carburetor area than you most likely have a blown head gasket. It's building up to much pressure in block and its blowing out your vent tube.

Vangard model 305447 type 0068 e1 code 05102611 will not say runining on rough ground

It can be several problems. It might be that the carburator is loose and when it shakes over rough ground it is sucking air and stalling. If it is something else you might try rubber mounts under the engine to take the vibrations out of it. Also check for loose wires.... there may be a wire grounding out when you travel over rough ground. look for loose connections or frayed wires that might touch metal and cause a ground

Trying to find starter for 12.5 vangard v twin motor. my model number is 9108304 on starter but can't find anything the same.

anytime you deal with small engine parts you MUST be armed with the engine model number, code and type. on late briggs these are on one of the valve covers.

My Briggs Vangard 18hp twin V has problems starting. I replaced the starter solinoid but it is still a no go. I can jump the solinoid and get the starter to spin but no fire to the plugs, Any ideas?

This is most likely being caused by one of the safety switches cutting off current flow to the solenoid. turn the key on and jump the solenoid and see if you get spark to the plugs. If so you have a safety switch is under the seat, one is on the clutch pedal, one is on the reverse position and one is on the blade engagement lever. hope this helps you

Carburator problem,18 H.P Vangard V-Twin(350777-1113-E1)

it sounds like the needle valve is stuck open. This is connected to the float, and when the bowl gets low the float pulls this needle out of its seat and allows fuel to run in. Sometimes tapping on the bowl can resolve this. The needle is usually made of brass and can become corroded from water or from sitting or wintering over. if you take the bowl off you could also clean this up if tapping a little does not resolve the issue.
