Since you do not specify which Bose speakers you have, I will assume they are not self-powered but require an amp. The RCA connectors are what's known as "line level" meaning they are meant to drive an amp or receiver but NOT a speaker.
IF the speakers are self-powered, then you need to assure that you are connecting to the LINE OUT of the TV (rather than some inputs).

Sorry for the lack of info. I have a Bose 3*2*1* system. The speakers are connected to the receiver. So I assume the audio would run through the receiver then to the speakers.

OK - now we've got it. I assume other sources will play through the speakers which eliminates the receiver and wiring as possible issues. So now we are left with:
    1. Are you coming out of the correct jacks on the TV (audio out/line out or something similar)
    2. Have you selected the correct source on the receiver.
    3. Are we talking about no audio at all or only some channels?

Can I set my Bose Wave up to utilize as a speaker system for my TV?

Yes...it should be able to talk to the tv via optical cable and switch itself off and on via the tv remote.sometimes they only used RCA connecting cables I.e. Red and white audio instead of lazer or hdmi pass through.

Can I connect my Bose wave music system to my LG LED TV LB55, lb56,lb62

Of course.

At the rear of your TV, find the Red and White RCA sockets, which are the Audio OUT.

At the rear of your Bose, find the Red and White RCA sockets, which are the AUX IN.

Using an RCA audio cable, connect those 2 pairs of RCA sockets.

Then, on your Bose, select AUX as the source, and if you've done EVERYTHING correctly, your Bose will now be the speaker system for your TV.

How to hookup a bose 321 to a toshiba 58l7300 tv

The Bose system does not appear to have HDMI output. The best-quality method would be to use Component (RGB) cables with analog audio. One RCA pair will be for audio and these are often RED & WHITE connectors, but don't have to be. Any RCA pair will work. Connect these to the Bose RED/WHITE jacks found in the "TV" labeling. Connect the other ends to the Toshiba's RED/WHITE jacks on the bottom row, first two jacks.

Now you need a Component cable. This has three RCA connectors at each end and are traditionally RED, GREEN, and BLUE. Again, colors do not matter as long as you connect the ends so they match. Under the "Component" labeling on the Bose, you will find the three colored jacks. Connect these to the Toshiba's same-colored jacks which are next to the RED/WHITE ones you used previously. These three connectors carry the video signals. They will transfer Hi-Def 1080i signals, not 1080p, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Switch the input on your TV to "Component".

I have a Bose Cinemate System and a new LG Plasma TV that it will not work with. The Bose system connects using red and white RCA connectors and needs it to be plugged into an Audio Out. The only Audio Out...

If you're using a Cinemate for HDTV listening you're missing out on multichannel sound. However, since it only supports analog 2-channel audio AND a TV or monitor is NOT a meaningful contributor to the listening experience, maybe you could extract the TV audio from the cable box where it ultimately originates in the first place. I'm sure it has a convenient and compatible RCA pair.

I just got a new samsung tv and the audio out is different from my old one. i used to be able to connect my cinemates red and white cables to the red and white jacks for the audio out. however, my new tv...

That's probably a digital out. I'm really surprised it doesn't left/right standard output in addition. Are you using a separate AV receiver? If so, and it's a new model, it should have a digital audio input, and then you could send your signal out to your speaker system.

The digital audio connection uses a unique type of connector and a special cable.

If your TV has a red/white pair out from another source, you should be able to select on a menu which audio output to utilize.

Bose cinemate no sound

Yes it will work coming straight off the dirctv box. What kind of tv do u have that doesnt have an audio out. I have had to actually use rca splitters to get sound from bluray and cable box because the new samsung led tvs only have optical out. Dont forget the unit not being used must be off or u will have 2 source sounds at one time playing.

Surround sound

your tv might have aux out on the back, I would use that first.
IF NOT, then you will need to use the cable box.  Insert the red and white plugs at the other end of  this cable into the AUDIO IN TV or cable box connectors on the
media center.
Be sure to match red to red and white to white.
3. Use your TV remote control to turn the TV speakers
down to minimum volume.
This prevents the echo effect of audio playing
through both the TV speakers and your 3•2•1®
system speakers.

Problem getting home theatre sytem to play audio when watching tv

you need the red and white audio cable hooked into the AUDIO OUT connectors on the tv and the other end of the red and white cables into the AUDIO IN in tv to the media center (main Bose unit).....If your tv does not provide AUDIO OUT connectors, you cannot connect the tv audio to the 3-2-1 system. Continue using your tv speakers for sound.
