I have a HP Compaq Pressario R3000 laptop that will not turn on. I recieved a message that the batter was low even though it was plugged in. I bought a new plug, still didn't turn on. Bought another battery, did not charge. What should I try next?

This seems to be a common problem for this model. Some have reported a loose (or dry) solder connection on the mother board where the power socket is attached. Does it seem to work if you push the plug in harder, even for a second? . If you are not handy with delicate work, or a solder iron, I suggest a laptop repair shop. Maybe copy or print a part of the thread to clearly indicate what you want. Good luck
