I have outlook express which is frozen because I tried to e-mail 87 wedding photos to the bride. Now it is stuck in my outbox and I can't use my e-mail. I contacted FIOS about the problem but they said I would have to contact emachines for a resolution. Help - Note you can't e-mail me cause it's not working.

Try deleteing all the messages in the outbox with the delete button.

not sure what you are referring or what is stuck in your inbox

open an email click tools accounts mail then on the right select properties you should see your email adress then click on servers you will see


POP3 should have mail. with your provider ie: mail.bigpond.com
and outgoing mail the same mail.bigpond.com

Outlook email with attachment, sending problem


Load Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe"). This ensures:
- No plug-ins get loaded that might touch the item.
- Loading Outlook in offline mode means it won't touch the stuck item.
Delete the stuck item in the Outbox folder.
Put Outlook in online mode (File -> Work Offline: disable).
If you restarted Outlook in its safe mode, exit and restart Outlook for normal operation.

If it's Outlook Express, in OE Tools>Options> Maint tab "store folders" note the location. Go to this location and find the outbox. Delete the .dbx file that goes with it. It will recreate itself on restarting OE.

Outlook express 6.0 outbox problems


This is a common problem with outlook express. The files have become too large for outlook express. I recommend blowing out all the emails. Try first empty the deleted items. If it will not delete. You need to find the folder associated with this identity. That would be in C drive then documents and settings then your username then application data (hidden folder) then identities. There will be a folder with a crazy name of numbers and letters. Go into this folder and you will see your inbox folder and outbox, sent box etc. Delete the folders that you dont have important emails in and this will dump that whole box. Make sure outlook express is closed when you do this. When you reopen outlook express it will recreate these folders empty. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Start Outlook Express, click on the "tools" heading at the top of the screen, click on "options" in the drop down pane, select the "general" tab, at the bottom of the pane select "make default" this will make the default mail handler Outlook Express, no need to uninstall the other one.

Still Stuck in the outbox

Some emails get stuck in the Outbox and sent again and again; this can mean you’re running out of disk space, so your email can’t move it to the Sent folder. You can try moving it or deleting it, but check whether you’re low on space and delete some old emails. Alternatively use Start, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup to get more space.

Can't sent email through Outlook express


you have to go into the settings and set the correct POP3 outbox settigns. You should be ablet to get the address from the email provider. On there site seach "POP3 outbox address"

Hi, this fix was on a website I found & may help..

This problem happens because your version of Outlook Express is set up to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which your ISP does not use.
To fix this problem, open Outlook Express, and click:
- Tools
- Accounts
- Then click on your connection and click Properties
- Then click Advanced
- On this screen remove the checks from the boxes This server requires a secure connection for both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3).
You may have to play with the settings a bit to suit your setup.

Whatever 'Windows Mail' you are using, I guess you have checked all the config. options? I mean if you are using Outlook Express, then go into 'Tools' then select accounts, then select your isp's account details (if they are not there, thats your problem) then click Properties. Under the general tab should be your ISP's mail server details, your user name (below that) & your email address. Next the 'Server' tab.. shud be info relating to your ISP. If you do not use Outlook Express, consider setting it up as a test. Do it manually as per above. If you need further help, let me know. Rgds.
