The buzzing may be filter capacitors in the power supply or in the output amp of the sub.

SW-910, blown speaker or ? makes rattle/buzz sound. replace speaker and/or change to passive type sw?

i would suggest replacing it rather than fixing. The cost of the repair will be about the same.
if you went to a passive sub/seperate power amp setup you could get a much higher quality unit, but it would cost you considerably more cash.

Why is there a loud humming/buzzing coming from speakers?

most of the time this is caused by a bad ground. Check all cabling from and to the right side satellite and the sub woofer.

PROBLEM WITH SUB WORKING ON A PIONEER VSXAX5I RECIEVER

The problem is in the powered sub, the buzzing sound is caused by one or more defective audio output ic's that drive the subwoofer directly, service is the only option to remedy the situation.

hi pls make sure that there isn't any other magnetic or electromagnetic device near the speakers because due to induction ur speakers magnetic field gets distorted which makes that buzzing sound irrespective of no fault wiring may be this may help u or see that the wiring near the woofers speaker magnet is attached strongly so that it doesn't distorts any more was this helpful if yes pls vote

Loud buzzing from Kef PSW1000 Subwoofer

yes. A good idea. Kill power to the sub, then unplug and remove everything from the sub. go ahead and plug it in again and check for buzzzz.
That is test one. if you have buzz still, its the sub assembly. bad luck, but not impossible. If the buzz is gone its one of the signals to the sub. They can produce a buzzz without any signal coming from your stereo equipment. Replace the feed line, enjoy! BTW...Kef sure does sound clean. good choice.

Sounds like feedback. Check your speaker connections at the speaker and the main unit.

Subwoofer noise

You didn't say is your sub active or passive. If its active first check signal cables from theater system, power line of the sub, it has to be the same phase as the system. If its passive take a voltmeter disconnect the sub from the system and measure for DC voltage on the SUB output on the system when its OFF.If DC voltage is present your amp is damaged. It can also be that the preamp circuit for the sub doesn't mute the input when unit is on stand by and you hear frequency of your power supply (50-60Hz) on the sub

Sony Active Subwoofer noise

The circuit that should be turning the sub on and off based upon the presence of an audio signal is not working correctly and the sub is trying to reproduce 60 cycle hum. The unit needs service.

Check your leads, chances are it's a faulty/dodgy lead coming from your macbook to the system.
