waterbug The part number 696876 for the timer is still good part number. It is still available and it did not cross to different part number. Why you had to get the timer with different part number? If you will give me the complete model number for your dryer I can find for you the right timer and the best deal to buy it. Gendos.

Timer resistance is way too low. You may have misswired the new timer. Basically, when the dryer motor is running, the timer motor gets voltage 115 volts.
