    Hi

I have a sony vaio with vista 32 and that wireless card from intel. All of a sudden, only one hour after it was put to sleep, the message "media disconnected" is how it reports to be the wireless, no ip, it is on, but it would not find any networks... latest drivers and intel software did not in my case solved the problem of connecting to any network.

This problem has been reported for over a year, but I have not seen the solution work yet.

    Thankyou

    Vic

Hello there.

This is a common problem. What i typically do on notebooks that use Intel Wireless, is install the latest drivers and Intel software from their website. 9 times out of 10 this will make it pick up a network that was not previously found, or fix problems with timeouts and so on.

Please click here then choose your version of windows, click 'Go!' and then click "Download" beside the section called "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Network Connection Software for Windows* XP/2000 32-Bit"

When you download and run this file, and install the software, you can then use the Intel utility to connect to the wireless network.

Hope this helps.

My hp lap top wont connect to the internet through the usb the ethernet or wireless and it was working fine until 24 hours ago. I think it may be the network adapter. I re installed the driver for it but...

Try turning off the wireless router fo 30 secs and then power it up again. When the LEDs light up, then boot up the HP laptop.
If this doesn't work, then check the laptop to see if the wireless router issued the HP laptop with an IP address. to do this - click on Start - Run - type cmd and press Enter. This will open a DOS command box, then type ipconfig and press Enter.
If the IP address returns 0.0.0.0 then the wireless router didn't issue the HP with an IP address and either the wireless router is faulty or the wireless card is faulty or it has lost its LAN configuration.
If the wireless router LEDs are all on, try connecting a LAN cable direct to the LAN port on the router and the laptop to see if it connects to the Internet. If it connects then install the latest wireless card driver and configure it with the wireless router's settings.

OUr Router does not allow both lap tops to print on our HP 8180 wireless printer. Our Toshiba laptop cannot print from the router, the HP does. Are there drivers that I can download? We have Time Warner...

It sounds to me like you simply don't have the HP driver installed on the Toshiba. Keep in mind that the basic HP installer is oriented around USB connections and often doesn't contain the driver needed for networked operation, which is an entirely separate (and sometimes incompatible) driver -- so make sure you install the right one.

Have 2 lap tops,1 desk top. Desk top and 1 lap

For the 2nd laptop, first upgrade the LAN card driver, then reinstall the driver if the problem is not resolved with the driver upgrade.

Hope this helps.

It does not show wireless icon at all

(Post ur Operating System along with the problem and the Brand name of ur laptop)

Chk whether the wireless is turned On or not.
Certain laptops requires manual command from the user to turn on the wireless.

If possible try to remove the wireless from ur laptop and try to re-install it and re-install the drivers also.
