Question about Televison & Video

This morning a message came on my TV screen to run a "Channel Auto Scan". I have run that several times and it does not work. I have disconnected the cable wires and reconnected them. I have unplugged the TV and replugged it in. I am still getting the same message and cannot get the TV to work. The manual that came with the TV in in Spanish and unfortunately, I only speak English. Can you help me with my problem?

    This did not work. I may have to contact my cable company to see if there is a problem. My internet works fine that is why I am puzzled that the cable is not working.

    Thank you for all you assistance. A time Warner technician worked with me and the problem is fixed. For some reason, the Input was wrong. It was on TV, once the input was changed to HDM1. My TV is now working fust fine.

This problem occurs if your TV is looking for a TV input so it will keep searching for at least one TV channel on cable or antenna.

To solve the problem, look at your remote control. You will find different input buttons on the remote labelled Video or AV 1 AV2 etc.....

Try pressing Video or AV on the remote and hopefully this should restore your reception.

    Yes. Please contact your cable company first to see if there is a problem.

    It is also possible that there is a problem with the tuner on your TV but lets see what the response from the cable company is first.

    No problem. Thats what I was referring to in regard to this problem being specific to a problem with inputs at the beginning.

    In this case the HDMI input was the one you needed for Video input. Glad you got it sorted.

put the co axel cable in the back , bypass this tv programming stuff put your tv on channel 3 or 4 and use the cable remote , no tv channels just cable

I have a 32" HD Digital LED TV From Element Electronics and the screen has a msg that says please run auto scan? I can't exit out of it.

Check it by making a hard reset. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 10 minutes or so. This must make it a hard reset. If this do not help you, check and replace it system control memory IC. It is faulty. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock! Instead, contact the nearest service center.

I just received a Coby TFTV992 9" portable TV. I'm trying to tune the TV channels without success.

1st click the "mode" button on the TV or remote then use the vol. up and down buttons to scroll around until you get to DTV mode then press "enter" on the remote you should get a message "please run channel auto scan" . click "Menu" on the remote the "Picture" screen will come up, keep clicking the vol. up button to scroll past "Audio" then "Setup" then to "Channel" then use the CH up or down buttons to scroll to "Air" click OK , then use the CH down button to scroll to "Scan all channels" then click the vol. up button. it then should start scanning, FYI you have to be fast!

Can't get rid of "Please Run Channel Auto Scan" stays on tv screen

for some reason it is not seeing you cable signal. you will need to make sure you have it set up for cable and not air. check your input options, like tv/av/hdmi/ ect hope this helps

When setting up a new TV, it keeps telling me to "Please run channel auto scan." But it also states that if I sellect Cable/satellite, that the tv does not need to run the auto scan. When you...

you need to select cable from off your remote and run the auto scan.even if it says you does not need to run auto scan still run the auto scan.good luck.
