Question about Panasonic Car Speakers & Subwoofers

2 Answers

I have a 2000 VW Passat with a stereo system that includes a Panasonic 6-Disc CD changer. For some time now the system refuses to stay in CD mode. When I press the "CD" button on the dash, the system goes from FM to CD for a second or two, long enough for the dash display to read the CD track number, but then jumps right back to FM.

The expert is probably correct in his comment that the unit is unrepairable. I tried using a CD cleaner, but the laser wouldn't stay focused on the cleaner disk any more than it would on a standard CD. I will arrange to have it replaced.

Vw golf 2001 there is no cd changer in the car I get a no disc or no magazine error

Since there are several possibilities for stereos in this vehicle, try pushing the CD button again. That should switch it back to single CD mode. If it still reports no disc, and there's a disc in the drive, it may be time for a new head unit. CD drives in auto's typically only last 3-5 years.

I hav a clarion auto cd/stereo displaying err 6 please explain, thank you

Error 1.Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
Error 2.CD error message. Mechanism has as eject problem or takes a long time to select CD.
Error 3.CD error message. The pick-up is out of focus during play mode due to scratches on the disc or contamination.
Error 4.Connection problem. Reconnect the data cable.
Error 5.CD error message. Could not read correct data due to CD ROM.
Error 6.CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down.

For error code 6:
Try an original purchased cd with no scratches and see if the cd player reads it. If yes then lens is dirty or tired so try using a cleaning cd(has little brushes on it). If it doesn't read with the original cd try using the cleaning cd and if no go then look at purchasing a new cd player!

Bought a used car. It is a 2001 Ford Focus Zetec, with the original Focus 6 cd changer stereo. However it will not allow me to load disc or it wont open to eject if any in there. It says CD erroe, or no...

Probably had a disc that fell out of one of the slots and is jammed. You will need to take it apart to look at the guts to see what is causing the problem.

When i change from radio or single disc to the 6 disc changer there is an error it won't read any discs.... It wont even change discs it won't do anything really...

I suspect that your 6 cd changer is having the fault. The error indicates always a system malfunctioning. From our point of view we can probe into for a solution by the following guidelines.
first of all open the 6 Cd changer from the top. look within to find that the changer is jammed inside. If so slowly tapp while you switch on the power. if the jamm clears and the changer ejects, then open out all the cd's present in the changer for any damage due to heat. If this did not solve, clowing chek for foreign particles/dust that has blocked the loading drive.from completing the cycle so as to reset the mode. normally all errors show because of the processor not receiving the complete cycle signals. hence check for all the moving parts, the drives and the loading mechanism. check also for any linkage damge, any leadd specially flexible line wiring to the motors for an open circuit. Slowly turn the motor drive to intiate to confirm if the motor has failed. Altogether use a multimeter and check in all the sections described.
I hope this helps. Good day.

You have to turn off the "DEMO" mode on your Panasonic radio. Check your owner manual for more detail. By default the radio run in "DEMO" mode when you use it for the first time!

try having the dealership look at it. if you bought the car from them new, they might have a warranty program so you can get it fixed for free.

I bought a new 07 dodge caliber this weekend. It has a stock 6 disk with satilite. I cannot get a cd to load, or the stereo to change into cd mode. whats wrong??

if you push the eject bution it will tell you to insert disc, to go to fm or sat to cd, there must be a disc for it to play... to load the whole stereo with cd's just push eject and the tray you want to load along the bottom of the stereo and it will tell you when to put the disc in, works the same for taking them back out
