My 13 year old son is trying to install this into his younger brothers computer; the current one got zapped during the last lightning storm. We just bought this at Best Buy. He ahs put the card in the slot, but it came with a cable also. We are unsure what to do with the cable. packaging doesn't even show it??? THANKS!

That cable could be the wake-on-LAN cable, it is used for the connection of the card to the motherboard's wake-on-LAN slot, this is only used if your motherboard supports wake-on-LAN and you want to open your pc remotely from another location. But if don't need remote pc connection you don't need to install this cable.
