PRIMARY MASTER TOSHIBA MK1652GSX LOCK

If your hard drive is locked you're out of luck. I'm not calling you a thief, but 99% of the time when you encounter a computer that has a password on the hard drive and the person in possession of the computer does not know the password, the computer is stolen. Hard Drive passwords are put on to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data.

To disactive the password of harddisk

LOL, you're out of luck. If you're smart enough to set the hard disk password, you should be smart enough to remember it. 99% of the computers that have a password lock on the hard drive are stolen computers. The original owner put the lock on to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data. The owner could have set the password remotely once the computer is stolen.

The computer is useless to you. The only way the password can be broken is if the original owner who put it on, takes it off? Even if you take the hard drive out of the computer, it can never be used again as long as it has a password lock on it.

HARDDISK SECURITY PASSWORD FOR WDC WD3200BPVT-22ZES

Saw on a forum that this could be the default password.. wdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwd

-put DOS on a floppy disk
-add atapwd.exe to the disk
-turn off the computer & connect your Western Digital hard drive.
-turn on the computer and inset floppy
-type atapwd.exe after A:\
-when the menu loads click on your harddrive
- >Prepare Erase
- >Erase
-enter the password " wdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwd "
-It should come back with an error, press enter and the hard drive name will disappear from the list
-DO NOT RESTART-...Your harddrive is being formatted.
-Let it sit at that screen for 30mins
-Afterwards, press the F5 key(refresh) and the hard drive should reappear on the list
-restart...and it'll be unlocked.

I don't know if that will help your problem but I hope it helps someone.

Here is your Dell Hard Disk Master Password for HDD serial #44W4Z3Y3764-595B
Your HDD Master Password is: w2cuzked
When asked for HDD Password use the HDD Master Password to unlock the HDD password. The Dell HDD Master Password is what Dell can calculate for you or a third party.
Thanks to the great guys at unlockbiosrecovery.com for providing the HDD Master Password that will unlock your hard disk. They can unlock your laptop bios or hard disk.

How Do I Change the Primary Master HDD User Password?

Prior to loading an operating system, your computer will first execute the BIOS program. The BIOS has an extra password feature, called the hard disk drive (HDD) user password, that can't be bypassed and provides a layer of defense to keep your data secure. To change an existing HDD user password you will have to load the BIOS menu, which is only accessible during the computer's operating system reboot procedure.

Instructions

1. Close any windows that are currently open on your computer. Eject any discs inserted into the optical drive and disconnect any peripheral USB devices.

2. Open the "Start" menu and select "Shut Down." Turn on your computer once the operating system finishes shutting down.

3. Press the key your computer uses to load the BIOS menu. For example, with Dell computers tap "F2" when the "Press F2 for Setup" option appears. Press the "Access IBM" key on IBM laptops or "F10" on HP desktops.

4. Navigate to the BIOS tab that contains the HDD password option, which will usually be the "Security" tab. Some computer manufactures instead include the password option in the "Advanced" tab.

5. Scroll down to the option labeled either "User Password" or "BIOS lock" and hit "Enter." Type the current master HDD user password when the prompt appears and press "Enter."

6. Input a new HDD user password and hit "Enter" again. Navigate to the BIOS tab labeled "Exit" or something similar.

7. Move over to the "Save and Exit" entry and press "Enter." Select "Yes" and tap "Enter."

My hdd lock pasward ,ask me to put user hdd pasward. and i forget it what can i do?

Unlocking a password protected harddisk During development of the Rockbox firmware, on several occations the harddisk has become locked, i.e. password protected. This results in the Archos displaying:
Part. Error
Pls Chck HD
We are still not 100% sure why it happened. Theories range from low-power conditions to accidental chip select failure. It has also happened for normal users, using the standard Archos-supplied firmware, although it was more frequent for us developers.
Note: None of us developers have experienced this problem since march 2002.
We do however know how to unlock the disk:
Windows/DOS unlock Note: This requires taking the Archos apart, which will void your warranty!
  1. Grab atapwd (written by Alex Mina)
  2. Create a bootable DOS floppy disk, and put atapwd.exe on it
  3. Remove the harddisk from your Archos and plug it into a laptop (or a standard PC, using a 3.5" => 2.5" IDE adapter)
  4. Boot from the floppy and run atapwd.exe
  5. Select the locked harddrive and press enter for the menu
  6. For Fujitsu disks: Choose "unlock with user password", then "disable with user password". The password is empty, so just press enter at the prompt.
  7. For Toshiba and Hitachi disks, if the above doesn't work: Choose "unlock with master password", then "disable with master password". The password is all spaces.
  8. Your disk is now unlocked. Shut down the computer and remove the disk.
Big thanks to Magnus Andersson for discovering the Fujitsu (lack of) user password!
There is also a program for win32, ArchosUnlock.exe, that creates a linux boot disk with the below mentioned patched isd200 driver.
Linux unlock For those of us using Linux, we have written an isd200 driver patch for unlocking the disk. This modified driver will automatically unlock the disk when you connect your Archos via USB, so you don't have to do anything special. Apply the patch to a 2.4.18 linux kernel tree.
Still locked? If the above suggestions don't work, here's some background info about the disk lock feature:
The disk lock is a built-in security feature in the disk. It is part of the ATA specification, and thus not specific to any brand or device.
A disk always has two passwords: A User password and a Master password. Most disks support a Master Password Revision Code, which can tell you if the Master password has been changed, or it it still the factory default. The revision code is word 92 in the IDENTIFY response. A value of 0xFFFE means the Master password is unchanged.
A disk can be locked in two modes: High security mode or Maximum security mode. Bit 8 in word 128 of the IDENTIFY response tell you which mode your disk is in: 0 = High, 1 = Maximum.
In High security mode, you can unlock the disk with either the user or master password, using the "SECURITY UNLOCK DEVICE" ATA command. There is an attempt limit, normally set to 5, after which you must power cycle or hard-reset the disk before you can attempt again.
In Maximum security mode, you cannot unlock the disk! The only way to get the disk back to a usable state is to issue the SECURITY ERASE PREPARE command, immediately followed by SECURITY ERASE UNIT. The SECURITY ERASE UNIT command requires the Master password and will completely erase all data on the disk. The operation is rather slow, expect half an hour or more for big disks. (Word 89 in the IDENTIFY response indicates how long the operation will take.)
