There is a tiny 'brightness control' under the top cover next to the bobbin winder. Turn it up!

I have a CS 6000i which I have really appreciated. But now it is skipping stitches - mostly skipping. I have been sewing the same project and it had been sewing fine. What will fix it?

try increasing/decreasing the needle thread tension for the added material thickness
use scrap material until you get it right

Blind stitch won't lock

This is hard to find in the internet so I hope this will solve your problem...

Frequently Asked Questions

Q) Help!
I am breaking a lot of needles and the tension is getting too tight on its own while stitching and causing the thread to break. I am learning the machine for two weeks. Is it so sensitive too wools, cottons, and fleece that this would make such a major difference in the stitching - breaking needles, breaking thread?

(A) It may not be tension that is causing the problem with your portable blindstitch. If you have broken needles it has probably left some needle burrs in the thread and needle path that need polishing off with fine emory cloth (crocus) before sewing again.

Start with a new LWx6T needle without thread or fabric. Watch the needle as you turn the hand wheel. If there is needle deflection, reduce the penetration dial until there is no needle movement. If there is needle deflection caused by burrs, they must be polished off. Check the looper tip and two arms for any needle burrs and polish off. If there is needle deflection caused by the needle track lifting the needle, lower the track very slightly with the screws on the side of the black metal bracket above the needle.

Finally, Back off on the tension dial and retighten while you are sewing with a light strong thread and light to medium weight fabric, until you get the correct tension without loops. If tension is too tight it will push the thread up so it is not all the way down between the tension discs where it belongs.

(Q) I can't understand how to finish off at the end. It
always unravels. I have read the manual and it seems simple but I
apparently just "don't get it." Any help would be appreciated.

(A) At the end of the blindhem seam, position the needle all the way to the left, then use the knee lift to remove the fabric and jerk on the fabric at the same time. That will tie off the tread and break the thread at the
needle without bending the needle. You can weave the thread tail back into the stitches or cut it off. Before the above procedure, you could also turn the handwheel counterclockwise for a few stitches, then come back to the end of the seam and repeat the first procedure above.

I just broke a needle. I replaced it. Now the machine is not stitching properly. I turned it off and turned it on. All the stitching lights blink. How do I fix it?

You need to change the correct size needles. There are two types of needles. One with cylindrical head and other with cylindrical head with flat surface on one side.
The other problem may be the position of the direction of the thread passing through the needle.
The third problem may be move your needle position one millimeter up or down and tighten it and check.
Please follow through these 3 steps one by one. You can fix the problem

The lower stitching on my machine is not consistant, why?

Wrong size needle or wrong type of thread for the weight or type of fabric. For instance, you should use smaller needle size for light weight fabrics.

I just had my 7470 serviced because the thread tension was messed up. Now as I'm sewing along, the needle will move from center position to left position by itself and then within a few stitched,

the gear or part that holds the needle position in place may either
be getting jarred or is worn,,
try using a different threadThe needle thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle

also try adjusting the top thread tension
as far as the bright spot, the display could be going out.

sometimes the repair person does not check the machine to
see if the machine is working correctly, because they would have
to charge more and some don't so you have to bring the machine
back more often and that makes them more money.

I have a Husqvarna 936 huskylock which is about two years old. I have not used it much yet and yesterday I set it up to do a cover stitch for the first time. Since then I have spent hours threading...

For the cover stitch, only use a size 90 needle. Depending on the type of knit, use a ball point or stretch needle. The 936 uses standard sewing machine needles, so you can switch needles with the type of fabric, just like with a sewing machine.

Husqvarna designer 1 won't turn on..stitching had messed up and cleared out bundled thread and now screen won't light up.

If there is no noise, like the machine is calibrating or setting up, then more than likely the fuse on the transformer has blown. If the needle motor and feed motor make their usual noise and the lights come on but the screen won't come on, chances are a connection inside the machine is your problem. If the cable from the display screen becomes unplugged, the machine will "start up" but nothing will be displayed on the panel. If when you turn on the machine, you touch the screen and hear the "click" sound the screen makes then its a problem with the display screen only. (there are 2 screens, the one you touch your finger with is the touch screen and the one behind it displaying the picture is the display screen.)
