We need to clean the bottom drain on our Bosch dishwasher but are unsure of how.
We removed an rinsed out the cylindrical filter, but there is still water in the compartment below, and sadly, there is some food floating in the water.
Do you have diagrams on line. I am not sure which model we have (it came with our house), so I may have to look through more than one.
Had the same problem if you remove t20 screw on the left side of the bottom bowl & remove plastic cover this is the drain pump & can block with food or glass particles clean it out & check it revolves & should be ok

I would call Bosch with you.re model and serial number, they have had a recall on your model for the control board and that sounds like it may be your problem, if it is under recall Bosch will send someone out at no charge to install a new board (800) 856-9226

The problem is most likely that there is still water residue at the bottom of your machine. If the machine is not fully drained it picks up some of the residue and sprays that onto the dishes during the final rinse, leaving an unhealthy and unsightly film on everything.
Remove the bottom strainers and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.
You likely have food or soap buildup stuck behind the trap in and around the drain workings. The only remedy it to remove the trap cover or lower arm assembly, and start poking around. The food finds its way into the tiniest of places and sits there, but it dirties up the rinse cycle. I have to clean mine out about once per year.
Fixed mine very easily... After checking and cleaning the filters by the tub's drain, I checked the air vent atop the sink -- it had a small bit of gunk trapped in the outlet. Cleaned it out, ran a "rinse & hold" cycle and it drained the tub beautifully!
