SOURCE: Hi there. I have a Chamberlain Whisper Drive

I just had that problem this morning and the cause was that the springs that help hold the weight of the garage door were broken. This caused the garage door opener to raise the garage door a fe inches and then drop again. We called in a professional and $200 later we had new springs and everything works fine now.

SOURCE: door would not close all the way

DOES IT REVERSE OR STOPS BUT NOT TOUCHING THE FLOOR?

IF IT DOESN'T TOUCH THE FLOOR YOU EITHER NEED TO ADJUST THE DOWN TRAVEL OR LENGTHEN THE CONNECTING ARM.

IF IT REVERSES YOU NEED TO DETERMINE IF IT IS THE SENSITIVITY OR THE SAFETY EYES.

SOURCE: Adjustment of a Chamberlain WD822KL

The opener is having a hard time operating the door. It sounds like the door is out of balance. The door should stay all the way up at half down and all the way down. You should be able to raise and lower the door by hand EASILY. The opener is only meant to lift10-15 lbs. Thanks BB

SOURCE: The belt on my Chamberlain Whisper Drive dipping

Where the belt attaches to the trolley carriage which attaches to the door there is a black adjustment nut with a spring on it. Tighten it up more by turning it clockwise until the belt tightens up. The belt will droop a little when the door is all the way shut normally but should not during operation. If you tighten it up too much the belt will slap on the rail during operation. Make sure the spring is set on the adjustment screw too. This holds the belt tight over time. Thanks BB

My chamberlain Whisper Drive HD600 garage door opener Light's click but do not go on. The door is working fine.

Probably just a burned-out light bulb. The "click" you hear is the relay closing. Replace the bulb. *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. The motor runs but it only opens a few inches and slowly goes back down its a chamberlain whisper drive model HD900D

Hi. I have seen this before, although usually not from chamberlain garage door openers.

Pull the release cord that unlocks the door from the opener, and manually open the door ALL the way open.

Then lock back in place in the open position.

Then use automatic opener to shut door.

It will close very slowly, but should close all the way.

Then, open the door again using the remote, and the door will once again open slowly, this time it should open all the way.

Then close door with remote, and door should now close as it is supposed, with the proper speed.

The slow opening and shutting is the system position sensor resetting itself.

This is why your door is acting up.

I would also look up by the belt drive connects to the front of the garage door opening, to make sure there isn't any dirt, cobwebs, or other obstructions on the sensor that may cause it to re-close the way it does.

My Chamberlain Whisper Drive bounces several times when it starts to close. It closes all the time, it just bounces at the beginning of the closing cycle. Can I stop the bouncing?

The door itself might be too "hot". Meaning the springs might bee too wound up or stretched out at the beginning of the cycle. The belt drive openers actually have a spring on the trolley to take up any slack vibration to legnthen the life of the motor and drive gear so this is not really a big deal unless it is severe. If it is I would hire a pro as the springs are the most dangerous part of a door and should be worked on by a qualified technician. Thanks BB

If the wall button will operate the door up but none of the devices do then look at the wall button. Find the lock button and push it for 2 seconds and then try the remotes again. This is your vacation lock. You can get a manual at chamberlain.com. Now if the door does not open or close with the remotes you can reprogram them. Press the colored learn button on the motor head and then press the button on the remote. Repeat for each remote. If they fail to program you will need a new logic board. Thanks BB
